Just Curious...How many people are NOT ordering a BK4LE?

Unfortunately, I am not. First off...Not only am I NOT getting OT, I was laid off a week ago. I have money, but it needs to last a couple weeks till the unemployment rolls in. Second, I am primarily a user, not a collector, and as a prepper/bushcraft guy I can't JUST buy knives. I already have more choppers than I can carry as is. And I NEED a tweener or two...I only have one knife in the mid-sized/primary belt knife range. So I'll hold onto my cash till the BK16 Production model comes out, and If I can swing it, the BK15 too.

Would I like to have a BK4? Sure I would! But I have to put 'need' in front of 'want' at this time. But if things were going better at work, I'd get one 'just because'. Maybe if I got to hold one myself, I'd feel differently. I played with the idea of selling my BHK Machete...but I can't. It's too bad-ass.

Maybe I'll get one in a contest that doesn't involve me dressing like a tranny.

Anyone else having to pass on the deal?

I'm not getting one. I have a Cinci one that was a user when I bought it, and I already have a few collectors. I plan on getting new ink soon and need to save my monies.

I'm not. I like knives for sure. I love BKT. But I don't have that much money on standby right now. Cost of living is gettin high!

And I hang out here mainly because it's a cool bunch of guys that don't act all elitist.

This, almost exactly.

The only difference is that I'm a grad student. I have two choppers already (ZK War Sword and BK9), and have been thinking of getting rid of one of them because honestly, I have no need for two knives with the same use. I know this sounds weird, but I don't know what I'll do with the BK2 once I get my BK17 (or BK16). The BK9 will be in the pack, along with a folding saw and those will do most of the wood processing. Then I'll have the tweener with likely a SAK Farmer and that will be my kit.

As cool as the BK4 is, I just don't think I can justify getting one right now :(.

Maybe things will change next year if/when I get full time employment (heading out to Microsoft next week for a two day interview trip [crossing fingers]), but for right now, funds are tight enough that getting one tweener will be all that I can do.

Also, I'm not complaining about it, it just is what it is :D.

The FPR Tweeners depleted my fun funds, and digging into my wife's would be suicide. I love Becker knives and will some day own the BK4, but not today.

I put the money away for a Machax back in December when we thought they would be out in February.

i'm not getting one. my review of the patrol machete (in my sig) details it. in short, that particular recurve i don't like. i really like the cs kukri and the bk-4 isn't quite as effective with that smaller sweet spot - it needs to be a full blown kukri or not at all imho.

I think I will wait to buy a regular production BK4, I think since I am not planning on stripping it right away, I would like to have a tougher coating on such a hard use blade.

I'm not. Just can't justify it right now. I don't do that much chopping out in the woods, and what little I do I have my bases covered. Besides, if I were to get one I'd want one of the new ones with the new coating and laser etch. Also, as other pointed out, both slightly depleted from the FPR BK16 and also saving up to get the regular production 16.

For those not buying, but wanting, there will be contests, for sure. Uncle Wierdbeard has already declared it.

And I don't think he'll wanna see ya'll all tranny'd up, so you can feel safer about that. :D

Oh, and I'm taking CT's line, for a new sig for a while. Just so you know.

Want one but don't need one, already have a Natti BK4 so I'll wait on the new one. Besides I'm saving up for a couple suppressors and a sex change operation.

I was gonna, however, I'm in the UK. Its gonna make it costly to get one as is, what with overseas postage, duty and handling charges.*
I'm thinking I'll wait until the production 4 and 15-17's are out before placing an order and lumping it together in one big hit (monies etc permitting).

*UK prices are already pretty steep (230% US prices!) and I'll hazard it'll be an aaaaage before they have them here.

part of my allotment includes two BK4s designated for contests or whatever i devise :)

mmm, sexy times...

yes

oh my yes
