Just for fun - 3 knife survive combo in a shtf zombie apocalypse.

Anttheknee, great score on the exchange!!!

Wow, this thread is hilarious, especially all the talk about choils!

I'd definitely have to say the 20, the 12 and the 7/7 for last ditch stabby stabby.

I hope Guy is paying attention to this thread and the obvious need for the 20. I mean, he wouldn't want to leave us unprepared for the more than likely zombie apocalypse, would he???

^^

Or a gso katana?

I don't know how traditional you're picturing a GSO katana, but you did see redwood's renderings, right? That looked pretty katana-ish to me, but I can see how you might think of something longer and thinner maybe with a guard. Do real katanas have a specific length? I can't imagine anything bad coming out of the ideas of GSO + katana!

I would love to pair the "practicality" of the gso-20 chopper with a 26-28" katana. Thinner stock, slightly shorter blade height?

Regardless of blade length I do like the idea of a beastly, no frills weapon/tool. I like the renderings because that type of blade doesn't need special dimensions for drawing from the sheath or all the intricacies of fighting and maneuvering. Like Dan Keffler in his super assassin videos, there's really no finesse needed, just total cutting power.

I'm fine with only carrying the 3.5.
I already live amongst mindless zombies that are glued to their cellphones 24/7 and the majority of them probably couldn't tell you the color of the sky without having to google it first.

Thanks silver! I'm kinda shocked that nobody else grabbed it before me.

While I love the novelty of a Katana, how about an 18 inch latin style machete? At least I can use that for something other than zombie killing. I wonder how 3V would perform in that capacity....

Hahahaha! Ain't this the truth.

I'm thinking for a zombie apocalypse you need to be able to be nibble and agile. Two new spec 7/7 with false grinds (they would get sharpened for the zombies) and a 4.5 for my camp chore needs. I'm almost certain my 5.1 would still be in my pack though. Just can't seem to leave it behind. :)

20, a 15 (aka a Kurki) and a Glock 20 with an extended magazine with a .44 mag as a backup in a cross torso right handed holster. And I would have a 7/7 (with sharpened false edge) with a 3.5 riding piggy back on a vertical chest carry on the left above the .44m. I'd also have a 7.62x39 carbine and grenades.

Are we talking slow moving, dumb and hungry or fast, angry and starving zombies?

Regardless, in the event of a zombocalypse I would choose my GSO 5, Condor Duku 15" or Parang 17.5" and Mossberg 590 with 20" barrel. The GSO 5 is the perfect one knife solution for all the general survival stuff that you are going to need to do after the undead eat 99% of the population. The Condors are for when you cannot use the shotgun. The shotgun is both for zombies and all the non-zombie hoodlums that will need to be dealt with when table manners and polite culture are put on hold.

FWIW, one of my friends (who is watching me type this) claims an AR would be a better choice. meh. I am not buying it; I like the one shot stopping power of 00 buck on the undead in tight indoor spaces.

You can carry more ammo with an AR and try using some ballistic tip bullets instead of FMJ.

Bigger rounds & more energy.....

I'm with ya on the 590 moss, although I do love the VEPR 12 :D

I'll choose a boom stick any day of the week for close quarters shooting. Here's a photo of me learning what recoil will do to your stance after 8 12 gauge rounds in a row. The Saiga is still one of my favorites.
