All right, time to dig out those skeletons from the closets! I'll start.

This was my first "Major" knife purchase. I saw it at the knife shop in the mall and thought it was the coolest thing ever! I mean, if I ever got in a knife fight I could just catch the other guys knife and snap it! So, after eyeing it for at least a year, it went on sale for  HALF PRICE!!!! I pooled my resources, cut some grass, washed some cars and came up with the sixty bucks or so that I needed for this fine weapon. I wore it everywhere, and with pride! I was only 15 so cut me some slack. It even has some scars on it from where I had it on in a motorcycle wreck, talk about tough!

So here she is... The one that I can never part with, but I never show with the rest of my collection.

The DOUBLE SHADOW!!!:o:o:o

So, I showed you mine, now lets see yours. You know you've got one hidden away some where!

I bought a Kershaw spec bump as I was always interested in the assisted opening thing. I cut myself the first day I had it, so it is on my sh*t list now.

I am afraid to put it in my pocket. I have no idea why I keep it.

I'm formally requesting a change of venue, we need a change of venue.

This thread is worthless without profanity.

The only one that I have that I don't like is a Leatherman knife/tool, that was given to me because I'm a knife guy. I have a couple of Benchmades that I don't carry at all, but I still have fond feelings for them.

I have some crappy balisong i got back when i was like 15. Not sure where it is now and i think it is better of that way. :)

Sorry, this is the only forum I hang out in. These are my peeps, and I wanted to show a little humility amongst all the $1000 plus knives that are posted. Humble beginnings, we all started somewhere!

Just wanted something a little different, if it is too far out there, then by all means delete it. No harm done!

Ha, Winmanfrog. That brought back memories of being a kid, and looking at knife magazines trying to scheme and come up with money to buy knifes like that.

Chuddy Bear, you are not the only one to get bitten by an assisted opening. My dad had one in his back pocket that opened up on him and cut his ass (I think he sat on it while it was opening).

My least favorite knife was an original buck cross lock. It was like having a starving crock in your pocket. that lock could not have supported more than 1lb before snapping closed. It was always trying to eat my fingers. I could not find a pic of the original, it is still in a drawer some where. I finally stopped carrying it, after my older brother had to have surgery and a cast on his right hand after his folded right after sharpening it. ouch.

The brass hollow-handled number in the middle of this picture:

It has vague pretensions to be the "Rambo"-style survival knife, complete with serrated spine. The handle is attached via a 1/2" nut to a short stub on the tang. I think I could snap it just using hand strength, no other leverage required.

A close second for this faux Rambo-III, shown alongside a real knife:

Ahh! The glory of Frost's "surgical stainless" and pakkawood. It doesn't get any better than that.

I gave my sister a Buffalo Warden last Christmas. She's not in to knives but I thought it was cute enough that she would use it.

She went to Africa a few months ago and she brought back a present for me. I hesitate to call it a knife, it is decorative but the blade is made from steel that is dead soft. WTF?

I won't regift or throw it away so it's stuck in my collection.

You'll love mine, carbon steel Bowie :o, didn't know Jim needed a bottle opener.

I'll try and get pic's later, I'm out the door for a meeting.

It was a present from my ex.

I've got a CRKT M16-13Z in desert camo scales.

What a pile of junk. Unstable lock, cheesy scales, crappy steel, and 48 ways to open it - none of which opens it with adequate force or ability to get it to lock.

Why do I keep it? I dunno. I guess b/c everyone and his brother had one 5 years ago and I finally found one for $12.

Gerber EZ Out Magnum (oooooohh!!!!) They didn't come with a pocket clip so I kept losing the bloody things behind seat cushions, buying another, then finding the first. Not a big deal - le$$ than a couple of decent 6-packs of ale.

I'm pretty sure there are at least a couple around here... So flimsy I'm quite certain I could snap one free hand without injury.

Jerry Busse has one in his office he bought just as a conversation starter. It was a survival knife called "The Solution", made back in the 80`s. I don`t know what the problem is....but if that`s your solution you`re introuble.

The cold steel trailmaster I broke. Then several more that did not survive my throwing log. all supposedly good knives that could not take a couple of days worth of abuse against the log.

Had an old Case Sodbuster.

Should have called it "Knuckle-buster."

Freakin' thing wouldn't stay open unless you put it in your pocket.

Had a wonderful little habit of snapping shut with just the least amount of torque to the blade.

funny, I have an old case that has done that to me a lot. Yet I still have it. ;)

I've got several knives that fit this category. There really is nothing wrong with them other than they are absolutly useless to me. Would love to get ride of them but other than the Kershaws the rest are worthless. Even the Kershaws are not worth much. They were purchased the year I took up deer and elk hunting. I hunted for one year and then gave it up after seeing several acts of sheer stupidity that season. Now I spend my falls and winters looking for lost hunters. Still amazed at the amount of stupidity I see. I'd tell the story but it is kind of long. Anyways here are the knives.

The junk.
