I can't wait to get home and take pictures so I can show you guys the "please stop sending me this crap" collection. For almost 4 years, friends and family would do their best to buy me "cool knives" they thought I would like. Unfortunately, every one of them was on a budget and had access to ebay and no concept whatsoever what a "good" knife was. One of them actually tried to cover up the word "China" with a magic marker. They all stay together in a waste basket in the garage. I finally stopped being nice and sent everyone an email saying "I have enough knives and swords. Please stop sending me these." I have more cheap ass butterflies, switches, Frost crap, etc. than you can shake a stick at.

I bought this set of $hitty blades a few years back. Long before I heard of Busse and the family. Wish I knew then what I know now. I don't think you could put a useable edge on these with a grinding wheel. Crappy geometry indeed. The cleaver is a fatty, so it's kind of cool, but pretty much a fat piece of junk. I love Alaska, but not its knives.

Mike what dont ya like about em? I have a small set in stag and they havent been too bad they are D2 for me. I think my girl bought me a limited set or something though. You may have there 440C or ATS version.

I think they are 440. The little caping knife is thin and can be sharpened ok. The cleaver and skinner are way too thick and heavy, with small handles. The balance sucks. I have a $20.00 Forschner (Victorinox) Skinner that is so much easier to maintain. I'm sure if I put in a lot of time reprofiling the blades that I could get a working edge. They came dull as can be, so for around $250 for the set I was seriously disappointed.

As far as least favorite blade goes I would have to say my CRKT M16
I used it for camping and it failed me the 3rd or 4th time I used it.
Tip broke clean off.. The rest is history as you can see.
I can't believe that piece of crap retailed for over $100

My current least favorite blade that is still in one piece, is my Mil-overrun BATAC. This is my current main user. Don't get me wrong it's a Busse so in general this blade is still amazing and virtually bullet proof. I just don't any like the BATAC model overall. I still enjoy beating the snot out of though:D:D

I collected blades in the 70's. I had some Randall, Gerber, and a Lovelace. Sadly all are gone, lost and sold. When I restarted about three years ago the first fixed blade I got was a Tops Operation Badger. It has since become my least favorite. Though operation Badger is well made 1095 I will stick with Badger Attack Tac in Infi

I actually REALLY like one of the knives they make called the Yukon Belt Knife.

My least favorite....unless I'm on a camping trip throwing stuff. ;)

Hey! I have the exact same Hibben knife!...Not too bad for a thrower...or is it?

It actually works very well as a thrower and I have zero complaints in that department.....it is however a royal pain in the kiester to get even a basic rudimentary edge on it. :p

I actually just retried to sharpen it on sharpeners I had not tried before.....DMT Dia-Sharp...worked VERY well! LOL

I received the MILBATAC a week ago. I only used it twice. Most of the wear is from batoning firewood and cutting down small trees. . My friend had his SJ and was using it for similar tasks. I noticed the older style crinkle does not wear as much compared the newer finish like on my blade. .
 Wow, That knife is, what, one month old? I couldn't put that much wear on a blade in a year. Have you been splitting firewood every day? :p

TWICE??

Wow! Glad I stripped my BATAC before using it! LOL
