it came in with my queen slim line trapper, how do i post pictures? do i have to upload em else where?
Yes, you need to host them to an account like photobucket, then copy the image code into the body of a post.

The tube top will have a sticker on it with your knife's pattern number and handle material specified. This replaces the paperwork. I much prefer the GEC tubes over the standard knife boxes & paper inserts.

If you need to now an approximate, and it is not a serialized knife, look at the number on the tube (the one KJ is referring to), then go to GEC's website and go to the "knives by pattern number". Then scroll through the pictorial history until you find a picture that matches your number and there should be a production date in the picture. I'll say this, not always will this work, but its worth a try.

Its funny because I found it written on the tube shortly after I made the post, the famous Christine! It was one of the serialized stag handles, number 16, i wanted 47 to match my HMT but its ok

I don't think we'll know for sure until the 2015 production totals come out next year but I don't think they made more than around ~25 in each configuration. Perhaps more in stag but I don't recall seeing any high numbers. I believe only the stag ones are numbered. The others I have are not.

Only Natural Stag are numbered nowadays. The Label on the back of the tube serves as a Certificate of Authenticity on the Natural Stag knives. The so called "Prototypes" I believe still have the old style COA.

god that stag is gorgeous, the blade is still shiny tho, i worry about it just sitting, should i oil it? or keep it oiled?

If your not going to use it and keep it as a collector then yes I'd definitely keep some oil on the blade. About any gun oil works fine but I usually use either Breakfree CLP or Triflow. Renaissance Wax is another good option for storing but not so much if your going to get it out from time to time to fondle it. :)

Mm I'd also recommend oiling once a month or so or whenever you take it out to fondle. I use handpiece lubricant but mineral oil works just as well~

as my most expensive foray in to traditionals, and by far my favorite of all my single blade trappers, its definitely gonna stay as a fondle piece mostly, i do want another #48 as a user tho, shame i missed out on the ebony or the red on ebay

enough said.
use it enjoy it.
all good

buzz

yeah but it would hurt less if i carried this boker trapper that just came in or the boker slim that i edc, and it got damaged or loss compared to the GEC #48

It's your knife. Use it if you want or don't. If you continue to buy traditionals, you will more than likely have more than you can really use. I understand not really wanting to use the first one.
