I have to say, I have never carried a fixed blade, but this knife may have changed my mind! I am carrying it paracord mounted on my belt of my left side, its comfortable. I have an Izzy on the way, this form has turned me to ESEE and I LOVE it! I do have a few questions. I would like to see how some others carry their Izzy and HEST (Pics would be very much appreciated, as I cannot come up with many pics in the search). And what do you use for a rust inhibitor? Looking for brand names and where to get it. I also can't wait for the Izzy to start paracord wrapping! Any info would be much appreciated as I am a fixed blade Noob!

The Izula has a clip-on plate that you can buy to screw on so then you can clip it in your pocket or on your belt.

Some people take paracord and lash it through the holes and create a little belt loop to slide your belt through. I usually just throw the Izula II in my inner jacket pocket or front jeans pocket since it is so slim, but I did buy a clip-on plate that I haven't gotten around to attaching.

I carry an Izula as a neck knife or in my jacket's inside pocket. I save the belt for larger blades.

I find the HEST too long, and the pry-bar to not allow for comfortable belt carry. Maybe I need to "dangle" the whole thing. I prefer to put it in my pocket, or in my BOB.
As far as rust inhibitors go, depends on how often you use it for food prep. For the use on food, I'd just use mineral oil, and only on the edge.
Tuff-cloth works well otherwise. Or don't worry about it, keep it dry, and strop off any corrosion as needed.

Canola oil will gunk up eventually, I would coat the blades in mineral oil, its edible and food safe, and wont gunk.

I'm a mineral oil guy too but if you use it every day (or so) you probably won't need to do anything to it anyway. And I like the looks I get when I take mine out in restaurants!

Just trying this out tonight. I had a couple C-clips from an old holster, so I thought I would try it out. It rides vertical just fine as well. Of course you can always just use Paracord through the Kydex too. Having the C-Clips gives alot of options actually.

Using the Paracord through the Kydex, would help it ride a little higher to, which might be beneficial for concealing.

I have two of them and love them. I usually carry mine inside belt using a boot clip for an ESEE-3 as seen in this pic...though the green clip is back on my 3-MIL and the HEST has a black one on it now.

HA! I just had the same boot clip on my HEST, before taking it off to try the C-Clips. The boot clip works good too! Did the holes line up perfect for you? I just left out one screw that was a little bit off center. Thought about drilling out the hole on the HEST sheath, but thought it was just fine with 3 screws.

Jus recently got my HEST also so I too would like to see some pics of different carry options. The HEST is the 1st of many blades to come.

where'd you get those c-clips? they look like from a supertuck or something similar... i actually really like that setup, it looks like it drops the sheath just a little lower than i am able to carry my 3 currently with a blade-tech clip. it seems a little more suitable for my preference.

also to answer your other question i use tuf-glide as a protectant but normal break-free clp or rem-oil work really well too if you have those on hand.

Good eye man! Those are from a used Supertuck I had a while back. They came with the holster, but I bought a set of the newer metal ones when I had it, and set the C-clips aside. Now I have a good use for them. Obviously it works equally well with it IWB. I just did it like that for the picture. I think you can find them easily enough online at a few different places. There are alot of different clips for Pistol holsters out there, so it would actually be kinda fun trying some of the others as well.

Take care,
Tony.

Yeah it does drop it a bit lower, which is what I was looking to do. It could go even farther too, but I still want to be able to get a good grip on it for drawing quickly....If needed ;-)

Just thinking out loud, but. Might even be able to offset them to have a Cant! Might be a bit extreme though. I'll have to give it a try sometime.
