Just heard Case will be making some of its knives in china......

And people wonder why there's all these clones coming out of China? The American companies took everything over there starting years ago, poured money into factories all for cheaper goods. We bought it and they made big profits. The trend continues today and how we whine when China turns out these knockoffs. I don't feel sorry for the big American brands that get cloned by the Chinese, when they are hiring them to produce cheap knives. I don't buy the American branded knives from China either, because I feel it helps support the faked knives.

I have absolutely no problem with knives being made in China as long as they are marked "Made in China" (or something similar) and not disguised. I have seen some of the CRKTs marked on the box, with China, but not the knife itself. Turns me away from CRKT. If a company tries to disguise the country of origin, I generally won't buy anything from them after discovering the deception. One day people will look at a knife made in China and say... great knife just like they do with the Japanese blades now.

They manufacture in China for 2 reasons, to improve percentages of profit (thanks labor unions and employment taxes),.and to increase market share at competitive rates.

This is why we are screwed, blame the worker. Then support outsourcing and buy outsourced products. Then wonder where all the jobs went.

Stay on topic. There will be no more political nonsense. We have a specific forum for it.

Maybe if Case didn't have crappy fit and finish and have blade play in all of their most recent knives they wouldn't be doing this. I haven't been able to buy a Case knife site unseen in 2 or 3 years because they have gotten so bad.

I rather buy Japan products than China, but I would have to agree with Treeshaker, but I'll won't buy a Chinese made car.:thumbdn:Gary

People used to think about that when Japan started to bring their vehicles over the world in the 60s. Even Korean companies like Hyundai and KIA are both doing very well for themselves and made huge strides in the 2000s. Time changes a lot of things.

You are entirely have the right to your opinion, but i've learned to never put a limit on technology.

Someday the Chinese cars will be here... and they may have their quirks when they first come... but within time they will become better & better and more excepted.

You folks need to chill out. I just looked at the new knives. Most people who buy Case knives would never buy the new offerings. You most likely don't have anything to worry about it.

I just wanted you all to know that I bought one of the tecx knifes from my local case dealer, and I am an avid case collector. But the tecx knife is very very good quality I guess because Case is behind it. This is the knife I use most every day so I can save the wear and tear on my precious Case original knives. I think It is Great Case is building a cheap (15) dollar knife that is better made than any other 40 dollar knife So us Case collectors can save our precious treasures. Just my 2 cents..

My mentor, when he would buy a new comic book, would buy two of the same issue; one to read and one that went into a plastic protective sleeve to keep the issue in mint condition.

He was a certified genius but he liked to play on all levels. He had collectable comics that sold originally for like a nickel that were worth hundreds and hundreds of dollars on the market.

I say buy two GOOD knives and use one. Life's too short to work hard with junk. The last time I cut my self was on a cheep liner lock that wouldn't unlock. Gerber tactical. Hey those serrated edges DO cut flesh pretty well don't they.

Grumble, Grumble, grumble . . . grumble . . .
