Just lay it on me.

Meh, I used to have 2 smalls 1 large and 1 Zann..

He makes nice knives, but his warranty sucks... So you'll be afraid to actually use it... Not only that but in hand it does feel like a "gentlemens" folder...
In the sense that you wouldn't want to beat on it AT all... tho I will say the Zann can take a beating without a doubt...

Will I ever get another sebby?..
Maybe, as I do still like them for what they are... if I can get one at a great price, then sure..

Recently however I have gotten myself a Hinderer xm 18 3.5" and Ive never looked back.... This knife has replaced my whole EDC rotation.. all in one.. LOL

All i carry now is the XM-18..... it handles everything that I need and then some... its amazing ...

This is the problem you are having with some of the negative comments..You are talking in absolutes (bolded portions) to which many people do not respond well to..

I would love to own an XM-18..Been meaning to for a few years..Just hasn't worked out for me. Too many other things I like to collect at the moment. They are on my list though :)

OP- CRK makes nice knives to be sure...The warranty service works in most cases that I have seen. There are cases that it doesn't work and those are well documented here. (pimping and abuse come to mind- Anything can be abused to failure..common sense is needed in the definition of "abuse")

It's hard not to sound like a fanboy when you really like any product I suppose. I can attest that if you buy a CRK, it's likely to reward you in some way. Even if it's just hype, if you amortize the cost of the knife, over a lifetime of ownership and enjoyment, they are pretty inexpensive.

Please explain in what ways "the warranty sucks"?

I wish I had read this statement before I used my Sebenza for the better part of 6.5 years as my primary folder, both on and off-duty.
Who knew I was supposed to be afraid to use it???

I know I posted this pic already, but I realize its a good example of not being afraid to use it. These knives are up to this task, or any, as long as a few scuffs on the Ti doesn't bother you. My 25 is perfectly fine after a rinse in the lake, and 'No' I did not void my warranty.

This has nothing to do with what knife you carry, at all. It has to do with you saying "the warranty sucks". That was it. I never said anything to the effect you were bashing them, or saying they're garbage. You simply stated "their warranty sucks" without backing up that claim to a guy who is about to buy one. I think HE of all folks on here deserved to know what you were speaking of. Do you follow me? Our opinions of the product themselves are why this forum exists in the first place. But to purposely try and tarnish a company's reputation by spouting out that their warranty sucks, that's a different story. You can call me a "fanboy", and that's OK. I AM a fan of CRK, and partly because of how well their warranty and customer service operates. But I am not gonna call you any names. At this point, I don't need to..

This is not true at all, and is 100% false. Please over look it, OP.
CRK has a better warranty than any knife company that I've used. My small 1997 developed a bit of stickiness in the lock a few years ago. I had put a penatrator tip(yeah, I kinda regret it now, lol) on it and the knife looked pretty rough overall. They didn't say a thing about me doing work on it myself, and it came back with a perfect lock and the knife looked/functioned as a new knife.
Many companies won't even let you take their knife apart and keep the warranty.

And a Sebenza is a very tough knife and was designed that way. Sebenza is a Zulu word meaning "work".
Its not even close to being a gentlemens knife.

CRK's warranty and customer service are top notch. what they don't cover is abuse. Unfortunately in todays world there are too many people who will purposefully destroy a knife, just to prove they can do it. CRK has taken a stand that they will not cover stupidity(IMHO). They are hard use knives for duties a knife is intended for. They are not pry bars. I have nothing against knives that are part pry bar and own a few(and if asked would have many good things to say about them also), but that was their designed purpose. The Sebenza was not designed for this, but have a very useful design in their own right.

Thank you. I knew there were other guys in here who would back me up. CRK's customer service is one thing that sets them apart from the rest.
Try and take apart a Spyderco knife - you just voided your warranty.

Ah yes, here is another person that I have had the joy to get a reply from...

I really hope you have a WONDERFUL day my man!!

Make sure to leave your useless comments in other threads as well.. ...all this just b/c I voice my opinion about a knife.. Sometimes I wonder why bother to have an "open forum"...

If you could back up your "opinion" with any kind of credible statement, then perhaps people would take you more seriously.

You never used the warranty, you admitted that yourself. You base that it "sucks" solely on what you have read online, with one mention of an acquaintance of yours having to pay to have his knife "repaired" with no mention of what was actually wrong with said knife.

How many other manufacturers will accept knives that are 25 years old for a free cleaning and tune up? Why should a knife manufacturer be required to cover stupidity and abuse in order for you to consider their warranty "good"?

Have you ever tried sending in that XM18 for any work? Are you aware of what the turnaround time is on that?

My day is just as wonderful now as ever, thanks. It helps that I don't wander around making unsubstantiated claims or baseless "opinions".

(And yes, I have used CRKs HARD. I have dealt with their customer service over the phone AND face to face. I also have an XM18. It is a brilliantly built folding railroad spike.)
