Just Lost Another CR Knife, am I the only one?

For the second time I lost a CR knife. I just moved, and was using my trusty Umnumzaan that I purchased new in 2008 (no Idaho Made, and no LBS, S30v) to break down the boxes and I must have left it in an empty box when I put the trash out, because the knife is gone. Nowhere to be found.

However, this isn't the first CR knife I have lost, my wife got me a TI-Lock a few years ago for a wedding anniversary, went out for an evening, when I came home it was missing.

Now I am down two CR knives, still have a few left, but my track record is not looking so good, maybe I will stick with Spyderco, or just slowly lose all my high end EDC blades.

Anyone in the same boat?

I have never lost any knives, but I adopted a "clip into the pocket when not in hand" procedure to prevent just such an unfortunate incident. It also prevents unauthorized use by persons in your vacinity. Yes, you'll be handling it more but that's better than not having it to handle.

Jeez sorry to hear that, knock on wood I have not had to deal with losing one.

You need to get one of the janitor keychains with the retractable cable gizmo that hooks to your belt. Run the key ring through the lanyard hole and you won't misplace it.

I kept losing my bottle opener and was always looking for it when I wanted to open my beer in church.

Problem solved. ;)

I have lost one..

Sorry to hear about your losses..Don't lose hope though. Sometimes, they do turn up.

Hoping for the best

Thanks guys. A real bummer. Have had these knife for years. Up until this point it was my most used knife. Just hurts. Don't think I'll replace it though, at least not yet.

That blows,I have a terrible memory and I always think I lost something or someone lost it for me or,wait, what the hell am I commenting on?

A way I have found to help keep up with my knife is never set it down. If I am using my knife and need my hands free, back in the pocket it goes. Much as Wavicle has stated.

Do the Pat down... I went into a dry cleaning store this morning and paid the attractive woman the bill, walked out got half way to my truck did the "Pat down" realized I'd left my wallet on the counter. (Hadn't done that in years).
Hate it that you lost your knife.
Lost a benchdmade mini stryker in a bar fight circa 98 or 99 (did not pull it the knife fell out during the tussle). First time I got my eyeballs scratched by the fingernails of a man and the last time I lost a knife.
Not too proud of that actually

That's tough.

Never lost a knife, and it's not like I am careful about it.....

Sometimes things just happen. Sometimes even twice!

I've "misplaced " my CRK's more than once.... always luckily got them back! But I know it can happen. I never "lend" my CRK,,,,,, only my Leatherman which I also carry...

No, but I have had some fall out of my pants when on the toilet. I now really focus on my knives throughout the day. Sorry about your losses.

It didn't transfer from your pocket onto a box or some other object by chance did it? I lost the one below for a couple of weeks then it showed up hooked onto this tool bag. I guess when I picked up the bag to put it in my truck the bag slid between the knife clip and my pants and then the knife transferred onto the bag. I looked and looked for it and then one day my daughter was getting into my truck and she said hey dad you didn't tell me you found your knife! and there it was. Anyway that was a happy to my story but I mention it because I have heard of it happening more than once. Anyway good luck I hope you find it.

No lost knives of any kind. Sliding out of a seat with a rear pocket carried knife has left a few on the seat but just reinserted them where they belong.

Never lost a knife because i make a habit of putting in in my pocket or back inside my waistband when i stop cutting with it. Never lay it down.
I do occasionally put other things down and later have to hunt for them. Especially my Ipad!
In my experience, my lost items have a way of turning up later. Hope your knife shows up.

Knock on wood, I've never lost a knife. I have lost my release going into the woods for bowhunting though. Talk about pulling your hair out frustrated...

Since I only have one sebenza, I constantly do the "Pat down" method like willard. If it isn't in my hand, its clipped to my pocket.

I learned a lesson early on...had a Wenger SAK that some one gave me when i was around 10 years old...carried it everywhere in my pocket, slept with it under my pillow. Kept it cleaned & oiled...one day we were out getting groceries, and on the way home i realized my knife was gone. My parents turned the car around and we looked where the car was parked, asked around in the store...but it was gone...lol...it was pretty traumatic...never lost one since...knock on wood...

You went out one evening and when you came home your ti-lock was missing?

One weekend years ago I misplaced my presentation grade iron wood Mnandi. This was right before I took off for a weekend trip. When I came back I searched and searched and then chalked it up as a loss. Years later my now wife and I decided to replace the couch. Taking it out to the dumpster I kept hearing a rattling sound. And bingo I remembered (but wasn't sure). I cut open the couch and bam there was my iron wood. It must have made its way deep down to the bottom of that interior space of the couch, the spring area where it just lay for years. Hopefully you too just misplaced your um.

But it's probably in a landfill, go buy another one.
