Just one thing…

Thanks, A. Forgot about those two.
Sigma’s shape does not do it for me.

110 Kickstop does but is way out of my price range.
Get outta here, all you have to do is pump out more of those gorgeous sheaths, make a few belts and you’ll be rolling in the dough 🤣

Thank you for your kind compliment.

Yes OP, that's me you are describing.

There exists very few folders that I actually enjoy the aesthetics/form of to begin with and while some have come very close they are usually too small in size or have some horrible inlay. Blades shapes I don't mind as much since they can be modded. Then again I'm a "less is more" design type of guy and by the looks of it I'm the odd man out. There are so very many folders these days that are extra frilly. I like beautiful lines, clever materials, but most of all - function and thoughtful design.

In my mind, nothing is perfect, though I have three Buck Sprint pro’s and a few others that about as close as you can get (for me, anyway). The rest are all very good, but they all have something that makes them not quite perfect. It usually boils down to the action, hot spots on the handles, or pocket clips that make them less than convenient to carry and use. If any of these things make them too much of a pain to use - literally or figuratively - they get sold. So far only one has met that threshold.

Since you brought up the SHF, I'm one who's also kind of irked from time to time by the way the edge just kind terminates because the grind gets too think at the heel. I like blades to have a consistent grind all the way to the heel of the edge. But... They're too damn pretty and awesome to care too much. The old Kershaw Junkyard Dog 2 with the titanium framelock and laminated SG2 blade was amazing except for the clip which was just a crime against humanity. Honestly there's something on most every knife I love that I always feel like I would have done a bit differently.

Have you seen Sharp & Fiery's "can't leave anything alone" thread? Modding is the answer to all knife 's problems!

Although since no one makes my perfect knife I'm still trying to work up the moxie to make my own reblade & handle redesign of a Para 3, that's a pretty heavy mod . . .

When it comes to SHF, the beauty of the anodizing and designs make small details like the edge termination obsolete. Anyone looking to unload a runes and staves version, hit me up!

I agree with you for sure. Plus, if you really wanted you could always get it reground.

Busse knives; great knives but no sheath. I don’t like the headache of trying to find and order a sheath that fits from a third party or having to risk mailing a knife to try to get someone to make one. I have only purchased one knife directly from Busse and that was back when they used to do the Atlanta Blade show. In that case I literally walked 100 feet to a Busse sheath maker, borrowed a sheath from him and tried it on the knife before purchasing both. So I am limited to buying them on the secondary market, after the original owners procure the sheath.

Randall Made Knives; apparently they are not aware they are factory made and insist on maintaining an obscene order book. I stopped ordering from them when I turned 50, figuring that I might not live long enough to see the knife. They need to either fix their distribution system or add production staff. 6 years for a standard factory product is way too long.

I have an AD20 in my pocket as we speak. Cru-Wear version. I like it.

I had a 20.5 for a while, and it was nice…just way too thin for my hands. Very fidgety, just not comfortable in hand. Really wanted to like that one… eventually tho I wanna try a real AD-20

Weight. I see something I like and read up on it and it past that weight limit I impose on myself.

I took the clip off the Umnumzaan I just received yesterday. I don't care that I haven't bothered to find one of my old Sebenza tabs to cover the screw hole and clip mounting pocket.

I actually don't even think it looks bad. I'm sure years ago it would have irked me.

C'est la vie.
In the interest of full disclosure and transparency...

...I did break down and find one of my years old filler tabs last night. (Fortunately, all of my CRK stuff was readily accessible on a nearby shelf.)

I will admit to it being an improvement, though it really didn't look bad without it...imho.

(There...I feel better getting that off my chest. ☺️ 🍻 )

I was interested in them until I got my join or die, now I'm in love! Photos don't do them justice, and the blade finish feels soft to the touch. A fantastic knife!View attachment 2291967
Whew, that's a beaut man! They really are masters with their engraving and anodizing work! Extremely impressive. And I know what you mean by the feel of their blade. That comes from getting a nice shine on the blade before they stonewash it. Yea very few take the time to get that nice shiny stonewashing, normally companies will give it a quick bead blast and then throw it in the tumbler.
