Just ordered a Murray Carter Neck Knife!

And today never came...

I guess the OP had no problems with the knife and is loving it too much to take photos. :)

lol... sorry about that... my battery was dead when I went to take the pics, and I kinda forgot about it.

I'll try and get some outside in good light today.

Lousy photography (yet again!) on my part but here is a picture of my Murray Carters.

Perfection...

By the way, does the third knife from the top feel 'heavier' than the other knives? That's Murray's first (ever) Kuro-uchi neck knife, isn't it? Simply gorgeous.

No significant difference that I can tell. The "kuro-Uchi" is slightly larger than the other two Originals, so any difference is relative.

Hey somber- any idea on what the handles are for the second knife. Absolutely beautiful
Handles on this .

There was no damascus in the photographs I posted, I think it was just the look of the oil. But here is some damascus from Murray:

All these pics tempted me....so I went to the carter website.....I like his stuff....a bit out of my price range for now, but I can save up for one. What really sparked my interest is his videos on making the knives, so I am currently on a forge knife frenzy and have a forged knife on its way to me. He also seems like a very humble maker, something I like.

I think Murray called that handle material "Pithy Bone". It is a super interesting material that is translucent in color. You can almost see through the material into the 'marrow' of the bone. Really an amazing material.

I just photographed that one, it's not mine.

Thanks somber. Eventually I want to get Murray to make me a
Custom kinda like that and I'm torn between mammoth ivory
Or that. It's very beautiful , now the question- damascus or no damascus:)
I can't wait to sign up for one of his classes and maybe even try me own
Hand at it.

I only have one of Murray's amazing neck knives but I've got a bunch of his chef's knives.
Those things are like crack!!
It started off innocently enough. I got to Murray's table at Blade Show early. I picked out a pair of knives and since Murray puts the final edge on them right there using water stones free-hand it would take a while since he had to do it between helping other customers and I was in no hurry. I wander back to his table and since he wasn't done with the first two knives I added a third to the pile. I come back by and he's got the first 2 done and just starting on the third so it makes perfect sense to add another.LOL Do this for a few Blade show and you can see how they build up. I think I'm up to 13 now...

That rare piece of blond buffalo horn is pretty incredible looking. Great looking knives!

Here's an update. A new acquisition to the fold courtesy of a fellow BF member. It's a real beauty persian style neck knife with Buffalo handle and white steel core along with a blue corian handled blue super steel necker. Thanks goes to the person who hooked me up.I carry it daily since i received it- alas the knives.

Nice! I think that large mosaic pin on the bottom one means its a Premium model.

Also, that Persian is beautiful!

And yes, I am still meaning to get some pics of mine... I want good natural lighting to really show off the knife, but its been cloudy lately. I took several pics inside with a flash, but they sucked, and I didnt want to take the time to transfer them to my HD. First opportunity Ill take a whole bunch of pics..

I recognize that knife, had my eye on it myownself. Very nice, a classic!
