Here is my Millie and Manix2 XL:

Not to be a party pooper, but I don't much like my Millie. The liner lock falls right where my forefinger goes and makes for an uncomfortable grip. I think it would be a great knife if it had the same lock as the PM2. I've thought about selling it, but it is hard for me to let go of a knife once I have it in hand. :)

But...that is why they make different models so that people with different likes and dislikes can find something they enjoy. I love my Manix2 XL that I bought at the same time as my Millie. I'm sure that you'll love your Millie.

Here's a little something to keep you occupied waiting for yours to arrive :D

Damn! A M390 ‘Millie, I’m always late to the game :grumpy: Better late then never I guess.. Hopefully they’ll do another sprint run one day, so us spydie noobs can obtain one!

That is one crazy mirror polish! I’ve honed my sharpening skills over the years but I’ve never tried a mirror polish, that will be next on the to-do. Nice job!

Great thread, pics and timing for me. I'm literally killing time waiting for a camo handled military to be delivered! Should be here any minute! :D

I believe this is what you meant? Because I've never heard of a camp handles Military. ;-)
I know that "should be here any minute" feeling. Hate it when the package does not make it when it's supposed to, for whatever reason.

And I got my camo (!) handled military 5 minutes after my post! Interesting design- a year (or 5) ago, I never would have went for such a large folder, but is seems workable to me now and I look forward to using it.

I didn't plan on one so soon, but picked up a para 2 as well today... All I have to say is.. Holy shizzzz! Where the hell have you been all my life. Pics incoming..

p.s. - one of the sharpest folders I've ever received out of box.

Nicely done. Congrats. In quick succession you got the two must-have Spydercos (IMO): Millie & Para2.

I am two inches close to buying a para2. Please don't give me any more good reasons to get one.

I have been carrying my M390 Military for the past week. I forgot how much I love the Military. On top of that, my M390 is a perfect specimen; no play and one of the absolute smoothest actions.

Thanks ;) It’s definitely an epiphany knife, not much else is needed.. Very simple and to the point - what really sold me on the military models.

Go for it, you’ll love ‘em.

my military is my accidental grail knife. read nothing but rave reviews but it always sounded too big in its specs. picked up a sprint to try it out because I knew it would not only keep its value, but most likely increase in value, so I could easily sell if necessary.

I waited over a year on the waiting list for the sprint to drop, not thinking much of it, but as soon as it got here I knew it was something special. it carries like a much smaller knife, has that precision tip, distal taper, and ffg which make it cut very very well, ergonomics and cutting mechanics to die for, and enough length to hold its own visiting the kitchen.

I've held knives which are more comfortable in hand but none that even come close to carrying as well in pocket, and I've found the blade profile and negative angle to excel at every day utility work.

this became my main carry knife for two and a half years, probably taking up 90% of my pocket time in that timeframe. it's been worn in my waistband for thousands of bicycle commuting miles, through torrential downpours and heat waves alike, and likewise carried day in and out for manual labor, it has cut down trees, sliced tires, prepared tons of firewood, butchered meat, made a spyderco believer out of my sister when she had to cut pineapple, etc... if I had to give up every single knife I own but one, I wouldn't have a second's hesitation in choosing the military.

I'm jealous goodeyesniper. I'd almost be willing to give up my s90v pm2 for one of those m4 militaries

Goodeysniper,

How does the M4 hold-up uncoated? I only have experience with coated M4 (and have had a tiny spot of rust form on the edge), do you keep it oiled/maintenance etc. etc..?

BTW, I’ve been wishing that BM would produce an uncoated M4 version for their M4 knife variants, still waiting… Your M4 millie looks great

Over the years I have had so many Millies, including two S90V/CFs, a CPM-M4, a CPM-D2, two M390s, at least half a dozen of the regular versions.... right now I have one M390 and two S30Vs, one of which is an older version with the Military logo on the blade. It is old and smooth and worn and I love that knife, I only wish I had bought it new but I got it in trade.

I just now added a digicam/black one to my stash. It is the only knife I have had so many multiples of and a day seldom goes by that I don't regret having sold off so many of the sprints I had. I think its the finest folding knife ever made, dollar for dollar. I hope they never change it.

I just brought my Millie and ESEE-4 camping for the first time. I figured the ESEE would see the most use, in its native environment so to speak, but I kept coming back to the Millie with its superior slicing ability and pointier tip.
