Sage 3 is still on my bucket list ! Wonder why they didn’t use the Bolt action lock more ?

Spyderco presumably designed and does hold the patent on their caged ball bearing locking system which they use in their Manix knives. I have no idea what the patent or trademark status of the Blackie Collins designed bolt lock is. I know that Gerber put out a number of knives with that locking system back in the day. Spyderco's CBB lock is pretty close to the bolt lock and they likely find it cleaner and more sensible to use their own system other than in the Sages that pay tribute to Blackie's design.
