Off topic, but I have to ask because I trust your opinion.

For one thing, how is that XHP? I've had it in a couple of knives, but I haven't tried any of Cold Steel's particular treatment of it.

Also, which handle do you find most comfortable?

The recon handle is really comfortable for cutting stuff like hay bales, the talwar just feels really good in the hand and chops pretty well too. I'm really impressed with the steel, it takes a real fine sharp edge and holds it at least as good as Elmax and seems a bit sharper. Polished edge really stays sharp well so far. Only had them a few days but i'm impressed. These are not the crappy Grivory Aus8 folders of yesterday. Far more refined both in the G10 construction and the new steel of the blades. Still not a huge fan of back locks.

Great info, thanks very much. I've had a bunch of the aus-8 recons, handled a couple talwars (the XL just didn't feel right to me. It felt "wonky". Not very ergonomic at all.), but I've never held the AK-47.

Out of the three I was thinking about getting the medium talwar with XHP.

Thanks for the mini review!
