Just a reminder to all you guys who think you are fast, don't try to catch a falling knife.

Let's see...do you "Like" a post like this?? Ouch!

Are you gonna need sutures? If not, have you ever used superglue on cuts like this? I learned this trick from a veterinarian (I know, LOL). Clean/disinfect and dry the wound, then push it together and hold it for 2-3 minutes by the clock to stop the bleeding. Don't peek! Then go over the top of it with superglue and spread the glue out a good 1/2" from the wound. Blow it dry and reapply, being careful to not get the glue in the wound. (If it gets in the cut it will dry hard and feel like a sliver of glass in the skin.) Then cover with a Band Aid.

I have glued a number of wounds, including a couple that probably should have been sutured, and they healed well. Just watch for obvious infection.

Thanks to @Spikediesel I ordered this knife. It's the Rat 1. I got it for around $44. It is the first time I actually laughed out loud after opening the package and getting to know a knife for the first time. Blade centering is perfect. Even grinds on both sides and shaving sharp out of the box. No blade play in any direction. Opens with a flick of the thumb with ease and gives a solid sound as it does so. Lockup is about 40-50%. And it's D2. It's a really solid knife for the price. I just can't believe this thing was only $44. If you haven't tried one, give it a shot. You might be surprised at what you get for the price.

No sutures. I'm an EMT and have access to durmabond which is a antibacterial version of superglue. It works great.
