Hahaha dude i can't stop staring at it. Got delivered today and I carried it. It's incredible. 5mm at the mune machi but it slices like an Opinel.

Careful not to ruin the heat treat!

I've heard as long as you don't get it got enough to burn your skin the heat treat won't get ruined, but that means you have to give it breaks while you're grinding it..

Who knows, maybe he isn't grinding that much. I'd cut it with a band saw and then touch up with a little grinding. It'll still heat up cutting but if you oil it isn't too bad.

He pretty much specializes in wave mods, I'd be surprised if he was letting them get too hot.

I think that mod is an improvement on blade shape as well.

Been doing em for 8 years. Dunk it after every pass. Hog with 36 grit ceramic, clean with 400 grit J Flex, and polish with felt belt and green compound.
 
The edge retention on the benchmade kitchen knives is great, they are 440c and benchmade has done a good job with that for a long time now. The textured g10 is nice as well compared to my shun knives which can get a little slick...I would highly recommend the benchmade kitchen knife set, I just wish they made steak knives to accompany them
