And its ok. I want to like it more but I just can't for some reason. The blade is a bit loose side to side and the fit and finish is nowhere close
to any of my benchmades. (5000 & onslaught atm) Plus the lockup is nowhere near as tight as the axis. I know, I know...more for you, right? :p

Yep, last spyderco I ever buy.

Your Para 2 must have been made on a different planet than those I have. I have mine adjusted for just the bare slightest lateral play, to promote lightning fast deployment via flicking. You can adjust it to your liking. F&F? Mine are perfect. Lockup? Perfect and rock solid.

Oh well. Opinions differ on these things. Thats what makes life interesting.

j/k. but seriously if you don't like the knife either return it or bust out the torx driver and see if you can adjust it. I've got two para2s and they both came close to perfect. i have a sticky lock on the one but the other is flawless.

Bencher, freedom was joking. Powenoodle was explaining that your issues are not commonplace and definately not anything that probably couldn't be fixed with a torx wrench in about 30 seconds. That being said, if you don't want to buy another spyderco, that is entirely your choice. My pm2 needed the slightest tightening of the first screw behind the pivot. It is now perfect. I wish I could say the same thing about a couple of benchmades I have owned.

The fit and finish on my Para 2 is top notch and equal to any Benchmades I've had or handled and the compression lock is probably my favorite now. It is super strong and will not fail due to a broken spring. Maybe you got a bad one.

Both of mine came with blade play that could not be adjusted out (even though there is a pivot bushing?). And the f&f on mine are good, not amazing. Those were my last spydies too.

He wasn't joking at first and edited his post, not that it matters.

I tightened the screw and its still a bit loose. I'm not talking about wobbly loose but its enough to keep me away from the brand. Its a dodge vs gm thing really.

Yeah, I suppose there are perfect examples as well as slightly off examples of most production brands. A lot has to do with luck in my book.

Minnesota...No need to worry. Spyderco wouldn't have made it as far as they have if bencher's experience were the norm. The vast majority of knives you'll get from Spyderco are excellent.

That having been said, I don't get why bencher doesn't just send it back and get a new one if he's not satisfied rather than open a beef thread in here.
