Just received my order from Bow Valley Outfitters Company in Canada - Pretty Sweet!

440a and damascus. Sterile blades on most. Perfect and repeatable primary grinds with amateur edge grinds on some. Company comes out of nowhere with fixed blades, slippies, and modern folders. Kit knives at best. More likely Pakastani or Indian import on the damascus and Chinese import on the 440s. Most of the slippies appear to have almost certainly come off the same machines as Frost's Steel Warrior line. Not bad knives on the latter, but not handmade in Canada either.

ETA: OP is probably spam btw.

Good call Kiah

I wish I had a recipie for confettii spam salad!

Last time I checked, I wasn't spam...wait, let me pinch myself...OUCH!

....I like them and am keeping them. Just passing on my observation of what I think is a good find. I have probably 300 different knives in my collection, mostly older ones that my granddad gave to me. I'm happy. :)

As I live in Alberta and have lived in Canmore I thought that this was odd, especially the Singapore connection. Trying to find more about this company has been difficult. On www.canmorealberta.com there is no results for Bow Valley outfitters, only Wapiti Sports and outfitters. I cannot find this business using Google maps, nor is there a local phone number. In a tourist trap like Canmore it is highly unlikely that they would have no store presence, or any way to contact them if you are in town.

Their website does not give confidence either:
"Every product we make is tested not only by us, but by several Guide and Outfitting camps in Canada and the Yukon!"- Funny, nobody told me when the Yukon left Canada, I would have thought that it would have at least been on the news once.

"directly from the reservation to your store or collection!" What reservations? Every other native craft sold around here that I have seen names the reservation that you are helping to support. If you are such good friends, why not help out (or name) your artists.

"To do it right you must live the lifestyle! We don't just talk the talk, we walk the walk. Every member of our staff and craftsman in our company are avid outdoors men and women." So the employees in Singapore are avid Western Alberta outdoorspeople are they?

" We pack it into the outback before it hits your storefront!" So now Alberta is part of Australia? Man, no wonder Geography was such a hard subject for me- it keeps changing so much!

"BOW VALLEY OUTFITTERS COMPANY
Bow Valley, Alberta, Canada"
and
"104-743 Railway Ave
Canmore, Alberta
Canada
T1W 1P2 "

Are you in Bow Valley, or in Canmore? As there is no town of Bow Valley, why try and make it seem like there is?

A further search of the business name on albertafirst.com failed to show any business of that name registered here either.

I'll try and contact the town of Canmore on Monday before work and see if they have a business listing for this company and any other information the town can give me. After looking into this (and seeing the crap looking knives they are trying to sell) I am very skeptical.

I punched 104-743 Railway Ave0 into google maps where it gives a list of all businesses at that address - Bow Valley Outfitters doesn`t show up.

Maybe Blado could show us a pic of those 300 older knives from his grandpa...?

If you look at the Privacy Policy (link near bottom right of the page) it says that the terms of the website are governed by the laws of England and Wales and you need to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

Good enough for me. Looked sketchy from the start. Nice research, gentlemen. This BladoRover scammer is banned.

I know he has been banned but I did a 3D search on Google Earth and it appears that Bow Valley Outfitters Company resides in a Post office box in the UPS store in Canmore.

They are in Banff. They don't have a store but sell the things they make to stores. I've seen there stuff in Calgary stores and around Banff in stores. I lived in Banff a few summers ago, it doesn't have street mail delivery because it's a tourist town and the locals think it looks bad, and their are no Post Office boxes left in Banff at the Post Office for the residences since it's in a Canadian National Park, so they probably were forced to get a Canmore box mailing address which is 5 minutes from the Park gates. Lots of businesses and residents in Banff do that because there are more services in Canmore. All my mail went "General Delivery" in Banff and it was a real pain. A business would not be able to do General Delivery. They make nice knives and especially the winter Blankets. The website they are using, servers are based in Europe because there are better shopping websites offered over there for less money, and they probably registered their domain with a Singapore IP hosting company because it was cheaper too, but who really cares. Looks like you are all a bunch of uninformed pack of wolves with nothing better to do. JMHO. I suppose like the OP, I'll be banned too. Merry Christmas

We don't like spam in our discussion board, especially from obvious shills. This board is partially supported by paid advertisers and by dealers who pay a membership for the privilage of being able to offer their wares. It would be unfair to them to allow a company like BVO to simply come along and get free press.

Especially when it's done in such an obviously disingenuous way. Had you been honest, you probably would have merely received a warning and been told to purchase a dealer membership if you want to advertize here.

Plus some of your knives are obviously less than legitimate in at least some way.

And stop pretending that you're not the OP. You're more transparent than that moose piss they call beer up there.

I'm sure there's some good Canadian beer. They just don't sell it here.

And their address in Banff is?

No phone #, no email address on the website either.

The terms of use, #13 Applicable Law says any dispute shall be governed by local laws where the headquarters of the owner of the site is located. I'm no lawyer but I'd guess that's England.

Blado, odd that you know all this about them, but didn't hear of them until a few weeks ago...lol.

Give it up man.
