JUST tanto blades :)

awesome thanks, it says its 3/16" Blade Thickness thats the thickness of the ontario and its made out of 1095 carbon.

the bokker, i cant find the thickness on that knife, but you can just look at it and tell its fairly thick. its made out of 440C stainless steel

is that better or worse than 1095 carbon?

Check out the toolshed part here on these forums. There is a sticky on steels- read up.

head,
No matter what you end up getting .... once you flash that thing at the other kids on the block, or in school ... the resident jock is goin whoop you good for scaring the girls and kids ... even the little girls will laugh at you ..... probably are now ..... but life moves on ......

it said 440c is an excellent stainless steel, not as rustproof as 440a... but harder i guess right?

it didnt give a comparision to 1095 carbon though.

This guy has 87 posts in one week??? Someone get this guy a black tanto knife already!

He must have a lot of covert deanimation to do.

Exactly. The first thread has been locked already.

i think this nice handle covers come off pretty easy, they seem to have just screws. is it possible to buy a different after market rubber handle and roll it on myself?

that would save alot of time money and headaches.

This guy may one day in the near future rise to the near-legendary status of Gecko45...

Is it spam if you start two threads on the same topic?

Junior, there's a little button up at the top of your screen that says "Search". Try it out for about a year and then start asking intelligent questions. You remind me of the kid who just keeps saying "why" after every answer you give him.

ON SECOND THOUGHT....

I'll make you a deal. You make ONE POST right here with a picture of the blade, picture of the handle, and a picture of the serrations you want, and I'll personally help you find something. If you're going to ask a bunch of knowledgeable people for FREE advice, at least try to make it easy for them. That's just common courtesy. Take your time on the post, you have forever to get it just right. If you don't want to work to ask the question, why should anybody work to answer it? If you don't know how to post pics, I'm on YM right now; the link is at the top right corner of this post.

I'm feeling very complacent today, I just had a huge meal.

that is it. the boker blade is the one im going to get. it seems to be much thicker than the ontario.

i just need to figure out if 1095 carbon is a harder substance than 440c stainless?

if the stainless is harder, i will get the boker and im done looking. its got serrations on it already and is a straight enough blade that i can live happily with it.

id like to change the handle, but dont know if thats possible.

i also want a sheath that "locks" the knife in place... is there such a thing?

i dont have YM sorry can we just talk in PMS then?

i would even be willing to live with that particular handle. but id prefer to swap it out with a more comfortable rubber gripped handle.

the sheath is my biggest concern right now. i really want one that just locks in place.

I have posted this before mate but get one of these...

http://www.coldsteel.com/80ft.html

It is cheap,as strong as hell and if you keep checking out these forums you will go off this type of knife anyway so don't waste any more money than this !!!
