JUST tanto blades :)

yeah that one is cool, but i like that roker the best right now.

is 440c stainless steel a harder/more durable material than 1095 carbon? thats all i really need to know.

440C is stainless...1095 is a good carbon steel

NOONE will ever touch Gecko45 bro...he is LEGEND!!!

really? well it looks like that roker is it! better over all and not much more priced.

has easily removable handles if i can ever upgrade in the future.

now i just need to find the locking sheaths... what do they do? custom make them to the actual blade?

Seriously, you should consider just getting the Cold Steel pitdog pointed out and if you want, paint it black. I would imagine it would last longer than that 440C blade.

well thats not what im looking for. i dont want a material that can chip.

i guess im back to the ontario! if only that damn knife had serrations!

what commercial companies will add serrations into a knife? (this is not something i want to do myself)

For a larger knife, I cannot see using stainless steel unless its going to LIVE in a marine environment. Thus far, even the "all mighty" S30V has paled in comparision to lowly 1095. Just wish I could get a nice lockback (or liner, frame or whatever lock) with a pocket clip as thumbstud in 1095 for the same price as a wally world Native...

so 1095 really stands up to the tests of time and toughness huh?

looks like its probably going to be the ontario.

never really thought of having to sharpen serrations, i figure any good smith could do it just fine though.

Partially serrated tanto = 3 edges to sharpen.

The tip...#1
The belly...#2
The serrations...#3

First and last partially serrated anything I'll buy...only redeeming factor is that it's a BM910 in M2.

so whats 3 edges compared to 2? i dont see it as a big deal. i think serrations are very usefull in camping scenario.

Get a full dedicated serrated folder for camping. You get more serrations in a handier package that way. You're gonna be chopping, hacking etc with the fixed blade, no? When you impact the serrations, the tips are gonna snap/chip.

Get a sak, or multitool with a serrated blade, keep em' off the fixed blades, eaiser and cleaner to sharpen. imho anyways :D
