Just trying to make a buck?

Just wondering
How much would a Heavy Heart or a Steel Heart usually retail for? (with mag handles) And is there a possibilty of the company store selling any soon, or is that a fact left in the dark?

The Heavy Hearts are out of production now and will probably not be available again. They were only a limited run. For one with mag handles you are probably looking at at least $380+. In reality more than likely closer to $450 but it depends. Good luck in your search.

I've been riding Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, all of my life - even through those AMF years. Then, when it became cool, to Yuppies, and the older bikes became more expensive than the new Harleys, average working people like me, who supported Harley-Davidson through the touhg times, couldn't afford to buy one. Harley-Davidson saw the demand for their limited product and guess what! The prices went through the roof. Investors were buying them to keep in the garage (safe) to let the value increase. Finally, dealers sold them at prices way above MSRP. Suppply and Demand. As long as the demand is there, the prices will go as high as the market will bear.
Even thouhg I didn't like it, I can't blame anyone who bought them, only to sell at a profit, nor can I blame Harley-Davidson for raising the MSRP. It's not like their product, much like Busse Knives, are a necessity, even though some of you Hogs seem to feel that it is. I only hope that Jerry Busse doesn't follow Harley's example and price them out of reach, of guys lilke me.
I guess that I could, always, buy an extra one or two and sell them for profit, to help pay for the one that I plan on using. (INFI, that is -not Harleys)

Yes!! and with a lifetime warranty!
Now, I'll drink to that!

Give Jerry a call and ask him for a quote. He might actually put his drink down since you will be paying his retirement in one shot. :D

What is really interesting to me is the fact that, when I see someone with a Busse for sale posting, there are certain people whose post I open quickly because you know that they have a history of asking very reasonable prices.
I would try to name them but I would undoubtedly leave a deserving person out.

Others I don't even bother opening any more, and I certainly am not going to name them.

Just remember that, in a true free market, like the secondary market for Busse knives, the people who collectively determine price are the buyers. The fact that someone pays a price for a discretionary product like a knife is proof that at least one buyer thought the price was fair.

I propose a sort of INFI commune where we all throw our knives in one great big pile and everyone can just grab any knife they want at any time and keep it for as long as they wish.

Skunk, you go first. I'll go second and the rest of you can sort it out from there. :D

Personally, when I need to raise some cash, which is usually for more knife purchases, I look at my collection and post knives I would be willing to part with. Some of the ones I would like to keep get posted also, but at a " I don't want to sell it, but will for $xxxx" price. If you look at my for sale posts, you will see a mix of great deals, average going rate deals, and some WAY high priced deals. those are the ones I really want to keep, and will be removed once some of the knives sell. This could be looked at as "Just trying to make a buck", but when I buy 3-4 times the dollar amount of what I sell, it more like"Just trying to keep the collection growing with out going totaly broke!"

Amen brother. I for one am glad for the appreciating value of Busse knives. My collection has been almost completely sustained and enlarged through itself.

Well now, after reading some of your posts I honestly feel that I have :foot: . Some of you have made good statements and good analogies. I have thought about the way that I feel about the free market. I do not believe in price caps or anything related to them. I do not believe there is anything wrong with price gouging(spl?). I know this may sound mean to some people but even in the wake of disasters I feel that if someone wants to charge $10.00 for a gallon of milk then they should be able to, or $15,000.00 for a generater then they should be able to, I personally wouldn't but that's just me. I do not feel that anyone should be able to tell anyone else what they can and can't charge for their product. For the last few years I have listened to Neil Bortz on talk radio almost daily and completely share his opinion on this subject, if you know who he is then you know what I'm saying.

After saying all of that all I can say is that I do not know what in the hell I was thinking earlier and I'm a little scared that I was thinking it.
