Just trying to make a buck?

I can say that I have only bought one busse with the intent to resell for profit. All my other busse purchases have been for me. About a year ago when a few people were going nuts searching for NO's, I got private emails asking if I would part with mine, they even offered $700. It would have been easy enough to make a ton of money by selling it, but that is not the reason I had bought it.

In the end if profiting is your bag, well it is a free country and you can do what you wish. As for me, I buy to keep, not to resell but it is nice to know I can liquidate pretty quick if I have too.

I guess it's like the story I saw on a movie, where the Junkie sold Junk, just to support his habit. As his habit got worse, he had to sell even more, which tempted him to use more, since he held it in his hands. Eventually he was busted for selling drugs and went to prison.
The gerat thing is, Busses are NOT illegal Well, at least not in most free states and countries.
I think that, as long as someone wants anything bad enough, someone, else will be happy to sell it to him/her, at a profit. I hope that the demand for these knives never goes away, 'cause mine would become worth less, just like the ones in your safe.
Hooray, for freedom and the free market.

Melissa and Katie are NOT for sale and I'd just as soon keep the black dog.

If I had time, however, I'd throw the rest of it, every bit of it (the Harley even) up on ebay for a nickel to open and no reserve! :D

See ya'll next weekend.................

I buy to use. But, in reading how some HOGs and piglets have made their collections grow, if given the chance and $, I would and will buy to profit. I was snooty in attitude originally(hypocritical), but I would like to have more INFI. To use, trade, sell, give as presents, so on and so on. I have traded and sold, but not to gouge anyone, just to help in the purchase of what I wanted next (and more). I'm glad to not only see that this exchange of goods is possible, but also the exchange of our opinions and ideas on the matters at hand at any given moment. Thanks to everyone who participates here!
AND........... like I've said before, " I came because of the knives, but stayed because of the people."
( I hope this post makes sense. I just took my medication.:foot: )

EDITED BECAUSE THOSE ARE NOT CROCODILE TEARS

Silas,

I know what you mean. For me, it'd be sour grapes. I've never sold INFI or SR-101 for a profit, though I've sold both. My guess is that offering higher prices would've reduced the amount of tire-kickers (and attracted the attention of Doorkicker? ), but what's past is past (searching frantically for new flux capacitor...). I had five chances to snag my 'dream knife' (FSH or HOFSH or HH FSH with mag scales) for retail and sat idly by like a slug (only without the panache), so if someone's selling one for retail plus a "Hey numbnuts, stop being so danged slow on the draw" fee, it's more than fair.

I left this post this morning, just before work. I knew I could count on a comment from one of the HOGthren, but am disappointed it was one of Cobalts that warranted acknowledgement from the Skunk and editing from thatmguy. I missed it! So, if it was that controversial and offensive, please PM me.

All that aside, I keep coming for the people!;) :jerkit: :D

I've been hanging around BF and Busse Combat for a few years now and I buy busses for myself to use them sooner or later but not all the knives I get fit my hand well. Afterall, it's not like you can hold it and play for a while before you make a purchase. I ordered both reg and magnum Heavy hearts, the reg scales are too thin to have a good control of the blade so obviously I'll sell or trade it. The magnum handle is too thick but that's better since there's enough thickness to play around. I'll most likely sand it down for a better grip. As far as selling for profit goes, most people are doing it. I surf the exchange few times daily and have yet to see a discontinued Busse or Swamp Rat sell for their original price. So, in the end the price reflects the demand, just like with Randalls, harleys, etc... When the Camp Tramp got discontinued within few hours of notice, I freaked out and overpayed for one but I don't regret it. Once the new Tramp is finally available, I may feel different then

:D Remember guys money is not real, INFI is! At leats that is the mantra that enters my head when INFI is in hand!:D And chop chop chop chop chop chop chop.............chop! AAAAAAAARRRGGHH!!!! HH jumped in my hand again!:D

If we don't want to pay the price for something, we can say no. OK, we can TRY and say no. Then the hog weakness kicks in...

You don't know the power of the dark side...:o :D

I dont always have the money to buy when they come to the store so I do depend on ebay alot to increase my infi collection. I have only ever sold one busse and I needed the money. I love to use them and like many others I want to pass them on to my kids. I do agree that if we dont pay the high prices then they wont get high but it only takes two Hogs goin at it to make that price skyrocket.......and who knows then that piece will come to market again? I usually set a limit to what I'll go to and then stop and its worked. I have paid what I planned to for some pieces and a lil less for others.

I have an opinion on this, so here it is. Free market :) .

With that said, I NEVER ask for more than I paid, I am not in it to make a profit. Especially from people that I consider friends. I feel the biggest profit I could get, is someone else enjoying what I did not.

To each their own.
