Folks, as far as ReconTech is concerned this issue is resolved.
If some of you are not happy with that for some reason, feel free to argue amongst yourselves. I've done my part to keep the peace, this is between Kyle and myself now, and anything else is just excess drama.

I appreciate the support from those who offered it.

I don't think I have ever seen a situation where a person has screwed over someone twice and both times other people have offered to make things right for him. Good for you Duane, but I would still love to see what excuses Kyle has for this one.

I sent Kyle Eichenseer a Benchmade Snody 210 Activator, New In Box, back in early January 2005. I also included a $5 bill per his request to have it shipped back. He said he'd make me a kydex sheath. No big deal right?

Well, now 8 months have went by and nothing. I have sent multiple requests to him via his gmail email address and to (EDITED) a friend of his. One time (back months ago) i was told the sheath had been made and (edited) his friend, would send it to me, then I got told he hadn't started on it, then another story.

I don't care about the sheath, just want my property back before I have to take more official actions. I have never done anything to these guys, just want my personal property back.

I hate to take this public, but since emails don't get answered, I have to do this.

I just don't think this one should drop off the first page for awhile.

I'd say that keith falls in the group wherein he hates seeing anyone taken advantage of for any reason. Kyle's friends keep talking about extenuating circumstances... well, if they are so extenuating then why does he keep accepting orders that he can not fill?

I congratulate the45guy and dawkind on their standing by their friends side and even more for pulling him out of that burning car. But. If he knew the car was gonna give him problems, why did he get in it in the first place??

Let me make it clear to you that I am not posting here to badmouth, smear or otherwise insult ANYONE.

ok, I am perfectly happy (well, content anyways. I try) and drama simply bores me. What I take issue with is someone badmouthing a person (that would be Keith Montgomery) whom I have never seen act improperly. He doesn't desrve it, much like recontech didn't deserve the wait and run around.

On the flip side, if Kyle Eichenseer is really having all kinds of personal problems then I extend my best wishes to him for same and think that he is very lucky (I say that sincerely) to have friends such as you all. However, that doesn't mean he should be contacted for work and it certainly doesn't mean that any customers he has left should lose out. So, until such time as his personal life does not conflict with his business, I think that Keith is doing the right thing.

I suppose that makes me a drama queen. I am done with this thread now. Mr. Montgomery doesn't know me, doesn't owe me, and he certainly doesn't need me defending him anymore. I'm glad that another one of Kyle's friends is willing to make it right for one of his customers and that Recontech is only out some time and 5 bucks.

If I screw people, and my friends make it right, I'm still a POS. In fact, I would consider myself more of a POS if my friends had to make right what I did.

Even if I were to stop taking orders, as long as I owe someone something, or might decide to take orders again in the future, I'm still a POS, and people should be fairly warned about dealing with me.

I have had very difficult times in my life, and so have lots of my friends, but I have never screwed anyone and as far as I know neither has any of my friends. If they had, yes, I would probably bail them out, but we would also no longer be friends, because I don't stay friends with people who work like that, and I would expect the same of them, which is why we are friends in the first place. I would not want friends that need to make excuses for me or be blindly loyal like a dog, and I make sure my friends expect the same.

Yeah, I would think this should remain right at the top.

I think the person that has his knife in the first place should have stepped up and given it back to him!! Since he hasn't returned the proerty that does NOT belong to him. Now, it is a theft! It is very kind of Duane to step up and give ReconTech a new knife. But, that doesn't solve the issue of the theft! Will the thief step up and do the right thing? I guess not, since it has been 8 months.

Eichenseer is out of business, apparently permanently. There is no more point in warning people about him than in warning people about Attilla the Hun. I hope all of his former customers have been taken care of now. If another one appears he can start a new thread.
