I have a ton of 'tactical' and everyday folders so I figured it was time to get some dressy knives. I found a great deal on this one!

Lone Wolf Paul Perfecto with passion stone scales and gold plated accents.

I don't know much about Lone Wolf other than that I heard it was recently acquired by Benchmade. I'm not sure that's exactly a good thing..... I'm not sure how sturdy this knife is.... The scales appear to be just glued on and that tip is very fine, like a needle. The steel is listed as '440 series' which doesn't say much... Anyone have experience with these? Not that it really matters, as I'll probably only carry it when I'm wearing suit, which only happens a few times a year anyway. Even though it's small, it sure is unique. Worth every penny!

I really just wanted to share some knife porn with everyone. Hope you enjoy!

Interesting knife, good pics. I have a small Old Timer I carry on those rare suit occasions.

i had a Lonewolf Paul Defender... nice knife. 154cm, cf scales, that were screwed on. btw, thats a pre-benchmade lonewolf knife and from what i know and what i've experienced they're quality. so is benchmade imo, but lonewolf never had the drama.

dunno about the steel. i doubt its garbage. probably a decently treated 440c

Gorgeous creation.

"passion stone" is...?

I guess "passion stone" is Lone Wolf's version of brecciated jasper agate. Jasper and agate are both forms of chalcedony, the jasper being red and the agate (I'm assuming) being the more translucent grey area. Brecciated just means that there multiple bands swirled together.... I'm not a gemologist though. Here's some pics of my semi custom Protech Runt J4 with 'Bloody Basin Jasper' scales. You can distinctly see the difference of the two different stones. Yeah, I'm a fan of jasper!

That's a real gentlemen's knife, man. I really like it. Most people claim to have a gentlemen's knife, but it's just a a normal lookin' blade. This here is a real gentlemen's knife.

Thanks! Spent a long time finding this one!!

BTW, if anyone's interested, I can steer you towards both the Perfecto and the J4 pictured here (slightly different due to the nature of the stone). I got the Perfecto for a steal, but I found another dealer who has one, albeit at a much higher price.

Ah thanks ...thought maybe it was a reformed gemstone aggregate or something like "Dymondwood" or "Pakawood" in the wood realm.

And that Runt is something, too!

Nice looking. Fit and finish appear to be top notch. I find that a Wharncliffe blade really is useful.

Congrats!

I know you haven't had it for long, but so far, what are your thought's about the PAUL lock?

Though I no longer have one, my recommended "gents" folder has been the Paul Presto for some time now. I think Benchmade will improve their QC.
