OK, just ordered the Ka-Bar® Ethan Becker Signautre First Production Run Combat Knife - Clip Point for $79.99 and a Case War Series -Afghanistan (go figure) knife for $61.99. SMKW has a free S&H code for over $100......code (FREE100S).

With all the Beckerheads I am surprised these Ka-Bar® Ethan Becker Signautre First Production Run Combat Knife - Clip Point are not sold out. Maybe they are not that rare?

$79.99 ouch!

You could pre-order the non signature version for $60.99 and they should ship any day now.

The price is true that I know for sure but as far as shipping I'm only repeating what the retailer said.

Posting the link would be against forum rules.

Do a search and you find the retailer with that price.

OK, it's for the non-signature version. I understand and see your point. I wanted the Ethan Becker Signautre First Production Run not the plain one. It was worth the extra $$ to me as it will be a safe queen.

Word up. I got the FPR 16 as a SQ, though that one made more sense to me because it's grind is unique to the FPR. But yeah, my FPR BK16 is sitting in a plastic bag in it's box, constantly taunting me to take it out and use it. It calls me a sissy and teases me with how nice it would be to just do some quick batonning, just to relieve some stress. She's an evil temptress.

I hate to sound like a snob, but the BK 17 is not called Ka-Bar® Ethan Becker Signautre First Production Run Combat Knife - Clip Point by anyone other than SMKW, mostly because SMKW doesn't know any better.

Now, as far as the 60.99 preoder "shipping any day now" goes, it's BS. First off, the regular production runs are gonna be $0.50 less than the BK 2 on Tomars (BFC dealer, don't slam me on it), and the chances of them actually shipping "any day now" are slim as far as I've seen (even though I have a FPR 16 and don't plan on buying a regular production until maybe next year at the earliest), seeing as they've already been delayed more than a week (granted one day more), and the sheaths aren't the hold up. So I guess the hold up right now is calibrating the laser etcher for the stamps?

15 = mini mag

16 = mega necker

17 = mini bowie

Correct me if I got those comparisons wrong.

Think of it this way... 250 for each of the tweeners. That is 750 "Limited Edition" knives. There are 200(ish) Beckerheads.

In addition to that, they are going for an extra $15 for a signature and "First Production Run" written on the blade.

Add in the fact, the only one of the tweeners that is any different from the production model and the first production run is the 16. There were lots of people that got the FPR. Personally the 16 didn't do anything for me. I am waiting for the 17. I don't have any particular need for the first production run.

I think I really wanted a BK16, but I have a BK17 coming...OK.

Is it to late to cancel your order, or to call them and ask if you can switch it up? If you really don't want the 17, there's a good home for it right here down south! :D

The FPR 16 is the only tweener different from their regular production versions in anything other than the signature and the roll stamp. the FPR 16 is a saber grind like the BK2, where as the RPR 16 is full flat like the larger neckers.
