KA-BAR/Becker Warranty?

Honestly, I only read half of the pages in this thread. In that time, I noticed that people on this thread are touting the warranty from Ka-Bar while many people on the recent thread regarding the bent BK16 were telling the thread starter that he was wrong in batoning his knife and that batoning is NOT covered by the warrantly. He went back to Ka-Bar with the knife and they did not replace it.

What exactly is the deal with the warranty regarding batoning these knives? Sorry if someone else brought this up in the other three pages of thread.
