Haha. I was actually looking at that wiki page reading that exact paragraph, probably while you were posting. Thanks for getting the details for us.
Yeah, it would have to be shorter, for sure.
I just Googled it, and according to wiki, "A Wharncliffe blade is similar in profile to a sheep's foot but the curve of the back edge starts closer to the handle and is more gradual. Its blade is much thicker than a knife of comparable size. Wharncliffes were used by sailors, as the shape of the tip prevented accidental penetration of the work or the user's hand with the sudden motion of a ship."
I don't want to pay a premium for quality control that I don't see as important when compared to the value the knives currently bring to the table.
I think there are real tanto opportunities here.
Someone did make a tanto BK-5 that was just stunning. I can't remember who did it though.
I wish the tanto blade would just go away already... just looks so dated and not in a classical sense.
