Ka-Bar Coppersmith Barlow??

I just saw this picture they posted up on their Facebook and can't find any info on the barlow on top and that middle knife which appears to be a stockman maybe?? What is the fit and finish like on their Coppersmith knives as I haven't heard much about them and can't seem to find many threads about them either. They sure look nice though. Is copper going to wear and age better with use than say brass would or is it pretty high maintenance as well?

Just spitballing, but I would guess it is made by Canal Street Cutlery. Then, like the other knives Ka-Bar offers from CSC, the bolsters and shield are copper. Don't own any, but CSC makes a good pocketknife. As for how Copper will age, it will tarnish about the same as brass, maybe more.

I suspect it will tarnish like an old copper penny. I've got a custom fixed blade with copper liners and it's got a nice patina. I'm also pretty sure it'll shine up nice if you want it to.

Yep, most likely made by CSC.
A few members have posted pics of their Coppersmith knives, and some of them have really started to look nice, with the copper showing some patina. I think it's an interesting look.
(If they were more reasonably priced, I might be tempted to try one... but that's neither here nor there.)

That barlow looks pretty cool...didnt realize they made a barlow with the copper.

I really like the Barlow. Nothing on their site about it though....

I searched for it as well and had no luck. I'm thinking it's a new model that was just unveiled at shot show as that is where that picture I posted up was taken. I would like to see some more picture of it and that middle knife which I'm pretty sure is a stockman. I would be interested in both of them if it is indeed a stockman.

Ohhhhhh! I would love it if they expanded the Coppersmith line. Especially with a Barlow! Here is a pic of mine, you can see the copper does patina but it looks really cool I think. The fit and finish is okay, nothing spectacular but no glaring issues either.

Very cool looking knives, wouldn't mind owning one. Also I think it'd be cool in carbon, to have both steel and brass to show age. Still CSC, I believe, only uses carbon on the Mooremaker knives. Still their 440C and 14-4Mov are good stainless steels, as is the D2 . I like them. I hope this D2 is on the Barlow too like the other Coppersmiths.

I like the look of that barlow. Will be interesting to see how these are when they get released.

There are a pair of lockbacks, one large and one smaller, in production now. The other pieces here are new models.

That's very pretty, sir.

Love the picture of the knife, and as a dog person I love the dog shield. I think I am going to have to add this to my list of knives to potentially get. That and I have Ka-Bar to blame on getting me started with higher quality knives so even if they are made by someone else the Ka-bar logo has sentimental value. I love the overall design of the knife, it's the perfect closed length and acceptable blade length (to my very specific standards), nice jigged bone color, and I like the look of the copper.

Yup this forum is definitely a love/hate relationship. I am waiting on 4 traditional knives to arrive and I already want to add this to my collection.

What a gorgeous knife!

It only gets worse too lol. I usually want 5 more knives before the last one I ordered has made its way to me. :)

Looks like there's a whole flood of new Coppersmith designs: A stockman, single-blade trapper, standard trapper, drop-point hunter, and the barlow. Barlow will be in CSC's 14-4-CrMO. Found all of this at Tomar's Kabars.

Tomar's Kabars holds a BF dealer membership. So, if that's where you got your info, you can say so.

And if the dealer in question were not a BF dealer, making a cutsie rhyme so as not to say the actual name would not cut the mustard.

Here's a shot of one of the barlows, starting to develop a patina as well:

Very nice thank you for sharing. What a beauty that Barlow is turning out to be. The copper with the dark scales just works for sure.
