Ka-Bar is playing with S35V. Time to push for a revamped BK77?

Last BK77's sat on the shelves here for years on end. I don't like the chances of it making a reappearance.

I would buy one. But I can understand that most people would not feel the price is worth it compared to the 1095 BK7.

Just my opinion, but I think these kind of small runs would sell really good now. The last time these were offered, I don't think as many people were aware of the Becker line being produced by Ka-bar.
I think BK&T knives have a bigger following now than ever before.

What about a preorder thru the BK&T and Ka-bar forums? I'll pay right now for two BK-16's in D2 or S35V. And you make that in a saber grind, I'll take 4.

How many knives would Ka-bar have to sell to make a small run worth it?

Maybe take a poll of the different Becker models and see how many people would buy each one, then put into production a small run of the most popular?

Just my opinion tho. I might be totally wrong. haha But here's my vote: BK-16 and BK-10. Sign me up. :D

Sprint runs would be quite cool. I'd be in for a 3V or 4V chopper, either 6, 9, or RBK (preferred). S35VN tweener would be great as well. Any of the other models, not as interested.

I'd only bite for a BK 16 in S35VN with micarta handles. For the bigger knives, carbon steel is the way to go IMHO

OKB,

Maybe a preorder sign up, with say tweeners, maybe from the calls for it, a Saber 16 with the tweeners ? I bet you would get people paying up front to preorder. I know I would buy a Saber 16 for sure, and probably a 15 as well, especially if they came with Micarta or G-10 scales. Could we get a talk with KA_BAR and Spark going again about the Bladeforums sprint run ?

Now we're talking!!

Sounds good but I wonder how to get these knives in Germany where I live. Getting the standard models ain't a problem even though there is always a looooong delay between the U.S. release and the knives becoming available at German webshops. So I'm not sure if such a limited run would even make it to the German market. Getting the stuff directly from the U.S. is always a real pain in the a@@ because of our strict customs regulations. I know that my favorite webshop gets the knives directly from Ka-Bar...I wonder if there would be a chance to get the limited knives there too....if there will be some. I think I'll have to ask Ka-Bar if this would be possible

but.. but... but... what would you NAME her??

What I'll name the regular 77 if I must settle for that...."Jessica-Prime". The last stop before I throw money at my local knife maker Channing Watson (Havoc Works) to proto my Jessica-X design.

I would take vacation from work and drive to the factory to pick up an S35V BK16 or BK14 / 24. I would also pre- order in full for my own and a few extras for family.

+1 on the poll for a BF sprint run.

There was no notification or information about it. I randomly found it and posted here asking if it was legit, found out it was, and they went like wildfire after that.

^^^THIS^^^

Like every good rapper, a good knife needs a hype man. At least twice a day, every day, I get messages about "What knife do I start with?", to which I always say "BK7". Then they go buy it and message me back about how great it is.

I know a guy that had 500 MMSS sleeping bags. My subscribers cleaned out half his stock in a week, all of our in a month. The Jessica knife now has a cult following. I get messages from people in other countries showing me pictures of "Jessica UK" and "Jess Australia" etc. They would sell out.

For anything larger than the BK16, 17, and 15 I will stick to 1095 but I think the tweeners could benefit from the corrosion resistance offered by a stainless.
