Ka-Bar is playing with S35V. Time to push for a revamped BK77?

^^^THIS^^^

Like every good rapper, a good knife needs a hype man. At least twice a day, every day, I get messages about "What knife do I start with?", to which I always say "BK7". Then they go buy it and message me back about how great it is.

I know a guy that had 500 MMSS sleeping bags. My subscribers cleaned out half his stock in a week, all of our in a month. The Jessica knife now has a cult following. I get messages from people in other countries showing me pictures of "Jessica UK" and "Jess Australia" etc. They would sell out.

Man, Well I hope it's not only the BK-7 they would make.

I would still buy one for sure....... then grind it into a BK-10. :D:D:D

Just my 2cents:

I personally don't get the hype of the BK-7. Have you tried the BK-12? Much better in my opinion for a blade around that length.

I usually push the BK-2, BK-10, or BK-16 if someone is looking for a single knife to survive and is just starting out. One reason is you can't carry on your hip or in your EDC bag a BK-7 here in Texas unless you are hiking or hunting. It's to long of a blade. I have EDC carried my BK-10 many times on my hip even to the grocery store and out to dinner. Now you can leave a BK-7 or BK-9 (Great Blade) in your car tho but that doesn't help you if you are not near your vehicle. Out in the woods is a different story. I 'd have a 9 or 4 and a couple of other blades too. I just think that if someone is getting their first woods/bushcraft/survival knife, it should be legal to have with them at all times. That does vary from state to state and I can only speak for Texas but is something to consider.

Great job on your YT channel, I've seen almost all your vids. You've grown faster that any other channel I watch!

I'll take anyone in the lineup in S35V.

Start with a BK9, the work in some BK10. Then, hell, I don't care. I'd like a EsKabar in it as well. Oh man, would I ever love that little can of whoop ass.

We've broached this subject in the past and however unlikely that they would do something special like the 77 again, s35v or some other super steel..... I'd be all over it. My vote would be for a saber 16 or a 10.

I smell a kickstarter campaign for the smallest feasible run of the knife that gets the most votes.....

The kickstarter campaign isn't a bad idea. Maybe have a blank bk11 without a sharpened edge and call it a pry bar with a built in bottle opener? Could even rename it the "Becker Bar" to avoid it having the same name as the knife version. Then people could just add their own sharpened edge to their pry bar and have a knife. In that case, could it be classified as a tool and not a "replica of a weapon?" I'm sure some of the more "politically correct" individuals would have it shut down in just under an hour though.

Granted, I'm still trying to decide on my first Becker. I just stumbled across this and I wouldn't mind the opportunity to try some other exotic steel.

How many knives does Kabar have to make to be worth there time.
How many people will shell out 2 to 3 times the cost of a 1095 Becker.
I would like to see a 2014 Becker knife special run.

I vote for A2. Much tougher.
Anything in the line in A2 would be amazeballs.
Carry-legal: nothing in the line for my state, except maybe the 13 and that doesn't count. :(

I know I've missed it somewhere but what are Ethan's feelings on using premium steels on his designs? BTW, sign me up for a 5,15, and 16 if they ever come out in s35v...
