KA-BAR Photo Thread - Post Your Ka-Bar Knife Pictures Here

Love this pocket knife. It's perfect little ADHD fidgeters and it looks like a KA-BAR. I've never seen one in this configuration. I take it that the scales are Delrin.

Your knife is pre 1952 and delrin didn't come out until the 1960s so it is more likely black celluloid.

My small but practical little collection from Olean NY.
Top one is my newest, a lovely little Mk1.
(love the handle shape on this, much nicer shape than the leather and the kraton is super grippy)
The middle one is my custom 1217, "Ol' Betsy".
Bottom is my well used 1281 D2 user, aka "Brutus".
(finish loss is due to poking holes is some corrugated roofing iron, blade edge held up just fine.)

Solo shot of "Ol' Betsy".
The blade is colouring up very nicely with use.
Guard has taken on a patina, yet shows shine where my fingers rub, love it!

My latest find, a vintage 1217 from the late 80's early 90's.
The original handle had become very loose, so I rebuilt it with a spare handle from a project from a similar age.
Plenty of lanolin grease between every washer, and final rub with bees wax to give a slightly sticky feel.
Pommel is pinned all the way through and peened over on both sides, a light choil as also added.
A quick slide on the diamonds to bring the edge up to hair popping sharp and she's good to go.
Marks on the park blade coating are from breaking up some old pine for fire kindling.
A bit chilly here in the mornings, a balmy 1 Celsius today, welcome to South East Queensland Australia.
Sheath is original, but have swapped it out for one I made from webbing belt.

"Bitsa" with new sheath catching some rays in the late arvo sun by this little creek.
Sheath is a 'Spec-Ops Brand' that originally came with an Ontario RAT-7,circa 2008?
I modified it slightly by replacing the original liner with one I made from 1' poly pipe.
(the poly pipe is not as hard on the blade edge and gives a tighter fit around the blade)
Also added a loop on the side for my fire steel.
Front pocket is big enough to carry a multitool, or in this case 4 of Fry's finest Turkish delights!
