I've been surfing around the YouTube Zombie films and stuff and happened across Zombie Go Boom. It's a cool group that tests weapons against zombie heads they make themselves. I guess the heads are ballistic gel with a realistic skull inside. They spurt blood and everything. The guys claim their heads are actually tougher than a real human head...
Anyway there was a video of them using a Ka-Bar Swabbie, one of the Zombie Killer line. they cut the entire face off with one swipe, then they cut the zombie's head off with one swing. Everyone goes crazy. Apparently they test all kinds of weapons and have never had a knife do anything like that before. They compare it to a katana.
I started looking around. There are umpteen videos about this knife. One Canadian guy went on for 20 mins about it. Said it was the finest production knife ever made. It's become something of a cult item.
One video produced the knife with the introduction that, "Everybody in the world knows what this is."
Wow! I had to have one. It hasn't arrived yet.
The Swabbie is an unlikely hit. It's got a toxic green handle (also a black one) a big, bag-like sheath, and a small skeleton knife. I haven't paid much attention to the Zombie Weapons. I think they're cool, but I've not been into production knives for a long time.
This looks like a serious knife. It's 18.5" overall, with a 12" blade, 1095 steel and .25" thick, with a flat grind. There's no mistaking it. I have to admit, I haven't seen a knife this "Different" in a long time.
Did everyone know this knife was becoming famous?
