Ka-Bar Swabbie - Cult Sensation of the Internet

I've got a confession to make... I don't know how to post pictures on here. If you look at all my posts, you'll see pictures I've stolen off Google. I know it's stupid, but you've always heard of the absurd lengths illiterate people will go to hide their inadequacy.

I know you go to postmypic.com or something???

:)^^^I am now using the above .Has worked great for me so far ! Vastly better than Photobucket EVER WAS , before the fall .

( After being royally Photobucketed and finally recovering from their rape , pillage and extortion way of doing business . ):thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

There's a nice blade hiding inside the swabbie. You just need to cut off the stupid bits.

Nice.

That looks way more useful than that silly zombie killer/pirate blade.

Purchased mine months ago on clearance.Still haven't taken this out for a beating.I took it out of the box the other day and noticed the handle a bit on the thick side .Certainly not a becker in terms of ergonomics.IMHO this swabbie could use a new set a scales

What is stupid about a back guard??? The Swabbie is a fighting knife. You need to be able to parry without having your thumb cut off. That's why knives have back guards. If you don't have one, the other guy's knife is going to slide down the back of your blade and cut your thumb off.

I know, I know, Nobody is ever going to be walking around with their giant Swabbie and get in a knife fight that necessitates parrying with the back of the blade. Still, one needs to stay true to a design. As I said, the guard in no way gets in the way of thumb placement. Let it stay.

The custom version above looks far better.

Were I to be given one of these choppers, it would instantly get the treatment as seen in the pic of the custom chopper.

Further more, I doubt that many will get into an actual 'knife fight'with these.

On the other hand, the original version would give endless material in regards to news headlines:

'Youth Shot After Pulling Pirate Sword!

A local youth died at the scene of a confrontation last night.

An argument about cutting in front of another customet at a 7-11 escalated when a youth suddenly pulled a pirate sword on a retired person.

The elderly gentleman, Chesty McPuller, known to 'take no guff from anybody," instantly pulled his Ruger LCP and double tapped the younger attacker.

The youth dropped in his tracks.

McPuller states, that as the youth bled out, the dying declaration of the pirate sword wielding attacker was faintly heard. It was belived to be a gurgling; ARRRRRRR...!"

Exactly. It brings to mind that scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Back guard isn't going to help you once filled with hollow points.

Yea, but he still has his thumb

Thanks, This thread just cost me $54.00 and I wasn't even looking for a Zombie killer.
But that modified blade just struck a chord with me looks great for light yard work.
