KA-BAR warranty experiences?

I ask because mine failed today while cutting 1/2 inch diameter branches for a fire (I was using a stump as a "chopping block"). The tang broke about 3/4 inch from the blade under the first washer.

I dealt with their warranty service a while ago and it was superb! I bought a Dozier Thorn and didn't like the lock up (too much blade play). Rather than send it back to the seller I sent it to Kabar. They returned a brand new knife in perfect condition. :thumbup:
