KAAK's Pass Around (Closed) Status

Just got word from jarlaxle that he will not be home till late July. Apparently, he tried to get word to me to skip him in the pass around, but I missed that info. He is currently away on business till Late July.

Not sure if USPS retrieval is possible

Doesn't sound like it was ever delivered, so retrieval ought to be possible! Would probably need to be handled by the fellow who sent it, though.

KAAK, I have been trying to keep an eye on this thread but I have been away for a few days. I will send you an email with the info I have here in a few minutes. Sorry for the way this has turned out. I will be making calls tomorrow to see what I can find out about the knife. If worse comes to worse I will gladly pay the full value of the knife to you KAAK. But like I said I will see what I can find out tomorrow from the post office, and we'll have to go from there. I'm very sorry to the folks after me in the pass around and to KAAK. Heath

Heath, it's all good. It was a drop in communication some where down the line and I contributed to this so I am not pointing the finger at anyone :) I tend to think incoherently when I am tired, but that doesn't stop me from typing :foot:

Hopefully Old Physics can give us an idea on if we can retrieve the knife. I'm sure it's safe, just probably getting bored with nothing to chop lol. Don't worry about sending money. We know the post office should have possession of it, so I don't need any funds. We'll get it worked out and rolling again

Heath, no hard feelings as I said in an email I just sent you. I should've checked with jarlaxle to see if he was ready to receive the knife. All you did was put your trust in me when I emailed you the next in line address. Hopefully the insurance form will help and the post office will be nice :)

Things happen and it'll all work out.... Just gonna take a bit. To the next guys in line, I apologize for slipping on not confirming the next recipient was ready to go. If I had, we wouldn't have had this delay/mix up. :o

Okay, so I called the local post office and they said that I would need to call the post office that I sent the knife to. I entered in the zip code in their post office search on their website and can't figure out which post office in particular to try to call. Without saying where jarlaxe lives, I will say that he lives in a large city with presumably many post offices, and now I'm not sure where to try calling. Any ideas from anyone would be much appreciated. Thanks. Heath

The last time this happened to me, I simply took all my paperwork in to the post office where I mailed the package. I explained my problem slowly and patiently in my kindest voice...several times.

Eventually, the post office folks actually began to help me.

It took several visits and several inquiries by the folks in my local post office, but the knife was eventually found, retrieved, and returned to me.

It just takes patience and calm. Oh -- and the personal touch. I don't think e-mails or phone messages would motivate people enough to go the extra mile.

Try it. It worked for this old boy and it should work for you. [Don't now how they can expect heathen to know what post office it ended up in -- perhaps jarlaxle might have some idea? My local post office folks managed everything with inquiries on post office systems from THEIR end.]

Let us know how it goes and whether we can be of any help! ;)

As far as I know after a week or so of being undeliverable it should be sent back RTS. I'll have to check on that when I go back to work tomorrow. You fellas may not have to do anything at all.

Hey KAAK

My computer is on the fritz, and I am having a problem checking my emails and getting on the forum. My phone # is 919-636-2173. Please, please, please get in touch with me through this number. If you get my voicemail please leave a message and I will call you right back or get to a computer. I have not received the knife.(fyi)

Thanks a lot!

Been wondering if this ever got worked out. I was one of the people involved in the pass around and have since bought a FSH as a result of that. It's was very generous for KAAK to offer and he's got the crap end of this deal. I'm willing to put up some $$ to help buy a replacement. Anyone else who was a part of this willing to do the same? Does anyone have one they're willing to sell?

I appreciate it Jfiles but I'm sure it will turn up. Just one of those times where communication was lacking. It'll arrive eventually.

I wasn't part of this, but I would be willing to chip it towards a replacement for KAAK. Jfiles53, let me know...

It was a very generous offer of you KAAK, but I saw this coming from a mile away. No good deed goes unpunished...
