Eric...
You've got me interested. Any idea on how big OA or blade is on the bigger one?

Hey Dave...

However I'll try and get more for you ...

hey there .I've owned a tdi for a few months now and i use it every day at work. The only problem that i found is it is hard to hold in the cold .I fixed this by para-cord wraping the handle.I abuse the poor little thing and it never failed me yet.

Hi Eric, gotta say this, from time to time it is your sheaths that make me want to buy the knives. All the best, man. :)

Hi *@*,

could any of you guys who own a Ka Bar TDI take down the scales of the knife and shoot a photo (or at least tell me) how it looks without them?

I really like the design, I just think the scales make it too thick for IWB carry .. so I wonder if you can just take them off ...?
Is it coated under the scales? Sharp edges? Holes? :-)

-Connor

Hey Conner...

Just went out to take the scales off of one and snap a pic,, but my torx bit is shot...

The only problem I can see without having scales on it,, is it's not going to fit the sheath worth a crap. The OEM sheath relies on part of the scales for retention...

I can make a custom sheath for you ,,once I get the proper driver bit...

As far as being too thick..It really isn't a thick knife..I don't have a problem with it,, however due to the shape of the handle it may print a little with a tighter shirt...

Hope that helps..

Whoa,

quick answer! ;-) I hope you'll find the proper Torx thingy to snap that photo for me (both sides, please). :D

How much would you ask for the sheath? I'd need something for belt carry.

Hey Conner..

Yaa if I can find a Torx bit that small around here....

As far as price,,shoot me an email..

Looks to me very close to the Ryan Plan B, except that Ryan is not that radically leaned forwards.

I was looking at getting one of these knives... then i realized its made in Taiwan. Dang you outsourcing!

Hey Guys..

eyeeatingfish...

Don't let that hold you back..
It's a Great little knife for the price..
Can't go wrong with it IMHO..

I've owned one for a few months. It would seem to function perfectly for it's intended purpose...firearm retention.

Here in the middle of the Mojave Desert, I can only wear a jacket for our two weeks (;)) of winter, so, during those two weeks, I can wear my Kimber Ultra CDP Elite II .45 in it's Kramer horsehide belt holster. When I do, the TDI will ride on the opposite side of my belt.

Love'em, i have three now and one of Eric sheaths.

*on a side note Eric, to faciliate easier removal of the Tdi from it's sheath do you have any tips (lube it with something ?).

Hey Guys...

TiNi...

Yes you can use a shot of silicone spray.. That should lube up the inside well..

If you are still having problems with it,, shoot me an email and I'll replace the sheath body for you...

Kbar does make 2 sizes. I am looking at my Brigade Quartermaster right now. Trying to decide between a TDI or a CS safe maker. I definately want some type of push dagger for a last ditch weapon when I head to the desert. Something to keep in my boot or up my sleeve. Any suggestions.

Hey Guys..

CB4life..

I only have the small size now,, hopefully have the large tomorrow..

If....

You buy the TDI and there is time before you leave..

I'll hook you up with a couple of my sheaths at N/C..

I can do a MOLLE sheath for you vest NP..

Shoot me an email if you are interested..

Just received one, as a Christmas present--that just arrived. Came from the friend of mine I gave a Benchmade Griptilian to.

Overall, it's a very nice little knife--but definitely not something I'd EDC!

It seems it would function very well as a slashing or punching weapon. The blade angle might interfere with camp tasks, although I do plan to take it camping.

The finish on the blade makes me want an Ontario RAT. :)

Hey Guys..

enderwiggin...

Actually it makes a Great little camp knife,, and can be very useful for many things...

It makes a great little skinning/field dressing knife..

Give it a try,, you'll see what I mean..

Well, for anyone who's curious about the Large TDI, I received one for X-Mas. It outshines the original TDI in every way! The blade is slightly thicker, the handle is more filling, and it cuts like a razor! The sheath is also much improved. For between 40 and 50 bucks, it's definitely a deal-and-a-half! I highly recommend it!
