Much Thanks

Thanx to this thread, and of course to Uncle Bill, and sincere Japanese dealer Mr. Ueda, I got my Kagas Katne. Great small khukuri! Even considering its small size, it's smartest, nice looking khukuri among my HIs. Such small size spoils khukuri's geometric advantage of effective chop with its weight balance point, but nice looking knife is always fun to use.

I just got BM rescue hook the other day for seat belt cutter. I liked it, and like it. But two toys are too much for my pocket. I take my Kagas Katne for it's a more versatile tool in driving or out of driving.

Such great, generous people around HI! Thanks a lot again!

draggin this one back up from the backlog....

a couple months ago i started carrying my KK, with as stainless steel handle, as my general purpose pocket knife and i love it! sure i can only get 3 fingers on the handle.. but the way the handle is flared out on the butt i can still get a darn good grip on it and really put alot of torque on it if i wanted too... and i can always put my thumb on the back of the blade for extra power.

I've been using it for all kinds of work; carving, opening boxes, cutting blister packs open, basically anything i can think of as an excuse to use it! :D

i even like my better Kagas Katne then "gasp!" a Bliton.. even though my mom swears by hers... but i just feel the ol' KK is the best all around size ratio for a good strong daily use pocket knife.

I love it and the neck knife that Sarge made as well as any knives I have ever had. Even with the modification Sarge made it turned around to much to suit me. I made a rawhide frog that covers the whole back of the original sheath with two rawhide straps sewn across to hold the whole rig solid. The backing piece comes up high enough to put two holes in an inch and a half apart. My neck thong
goes in from the back side thru the little belt loop and thru the other hole. Doesn't twist much at all now. The dry raw hide doesn't weigh much either. Between the two neck knives, I trade off about every week. First thing in the morning the one around my neck gets stopped 50 strokes down and 50 strokes up before breakfast that way I don't worry about them getting dull. "Works for me":) :D

Last time I got pulled over the cop saw the kagas katne and asked if I had any other weapons in the car. I was taken out of the car and frisked.

( Guess I'd better watch it when I carry the Uzi in the briefcase - though technically, as a carbine it doesn't fall under concealed carry regulations. )

Anyway, remember that they may seem like toys to us, but be considered weapons by the consarned conflabulistic constabulary.

:barf: :barf: :barf:

Rusty that cop wanted to show off his authority and you just gave him an excuse. Anybody who really sees a KK as a weapon doesn't have too much between the ears to start with.:)

There were 3 of them, each in a different car,so divide their IQ by 3 squared ( X divided by 9 ) or three cubed ( X divided by 27 ).

"but i just feel the ol' KK is the best all around size ratio for a good strong daily use pocket knife."

I'll sure drink to that.:) Mine's opened many an MRE, and it's been known to appear out of nowhere in restaurants when I'm not overly impressed with their steak knives.:D
