Kami's Miscellaneous Fund Raiser

Ladies and Gentlemen, I do not normally engage in fund raisers, but it has covertly came to my attention that besides the medical fund, the kami's need a little help in other areas of life, too. This usually falls on the shoulders of Mrs. Martino who takes a tiny bit from the DOTD sales and sets it aside for just this purpose. She walking down the Dharma Path usually means that it comes out of her own pocket, though. I know some could say "So, that's her business." And you would be absolutely correct because we are responsible for what we do, both good and bad. I enjoy HI's forum pages, it's inhabitants, and get a lot out of it. Hasn't cost me a dime (unless I need a shot in the arm from a bad case of HIKV), so here is my pay back time proposal:

I have one Nepalese made bayonet for the Nepalese 1878 Martini-Henry or Nepalese Gahendra "Martini-Henry" rifles. This bayonet was purchased from Atlanta Cutlery and came from the 'arms horde" in 2003. These cost $40. "Hand select" adds another $10. Shipping the way I had it shipped adds about another $16. Sum total is $66.

If you donate any money to this miscellaneous fund and send it to Mrs. Martino, send a note to Bawanna how much you sent. One dollar even is acceptable. He will in turn enter your name into a drawing, giving you one entry for each dollar donated. On March 15th, 2015, he will draw ONE entry from the hat and post the winner on the forum. I will send the winner this bayonet at my expense. If only one dollar has been donated, so be it. The entrant gets the bayonet. Here are four photos to see what is up for grabs.

Sorry, Philllll. Even though I deserve it, flattery will get you no where!

One of my many ploys in life is to just get ammo or accessories for a certain weapon. Then I tell the wife I have this ammo and accessories for this particular weapon but I don't have one.

Usually she say tough nooogy but I still use it. I see that ploy coming alive once again right here. That look like a very nice bayonet.

I got a couple things on the block, sorry no knives but I intend to jump on this bandwagon too.

I'm thinking if I was to draw me own name it might be a conflict though so I'm gonna donate but not put my name in the hat.

Reach deep boys and girls, we all get a ton out of HI and Auntie and the Kami's, lets give em back some, actually give em back a lot, a whole lot.

I don't know if non paid members can send PM's so if that's the case just make a post in this thread. I'll try to keep on top of everything and keep everything fair, square and on the up and up.

One entry for each dollar, that's gonna be a lot of entries I HOPE. Whoop me master, I's working, I's working hard!.

Great idea. Thanks to all involved for arranging it.

A great idea, and a very generous gesture Bookie. I'm in, and a hearty congratulations to the winner!

My pleasure mate I hope you win!;)

I was very much afraid of this very thing and impropriety. I shall ponder this dilemma.

You could always ask Bookie to use a random number generator and do it for you. Then you can enter as well.......just a thought.

Bookie still hasn't discovered smokeless powder yet. Ya think he knows what a random number generator is?

I think I know what it is but durned if I know how to work one.

I was gonna do it the old fashioned way and get some card stock and cut into exact same little pieces. Write the names on them a whole bunch of times in some cases and then have a non involved third party draw.

I could even have an officer or maybe even a judge draw a name.

I got very little but my integrity and I surly won't risk that for much of anything.

We'll be fair and square regardless.

I've been so gosh durn lucky with this sort of stuff on the HI forum that it don't seem fair. Funny I'm never lucky anywhere else. Never won an auction or a drawing anywhere but here.

Boys and Girls, you can save me some real headache if you include your screen name especially if you email me. I love you all of course but I get real names and screen names mixed up sometimes especially if your name ain't Steve.

I figured out Cul I'm pretty sure and I should remember that but like I say I'm trying not to screw up and be fair and all.

Lets kick this into a higher level and anty up. They take great care of us, lets take extra great care of them!

Bawanna, how goes the entries? Have we raised 10 bucks yet? Do I need to sweeten the pot by throwing in my old '57 Chev Belair rag top?

I know for a fact it's over $10.00, if the '57 is thrown in, I might have to get a 2nd job...:)

Yall dont bother Bawanna. He's busy cutting out little squares of paper right now. If Bookie throws in that 57 Chevy he will be busy till 2057 and will need a bigger hat.
