Kami's Miscellaneous Fund Raiser

Well Im in so many tickets for it but I dont think i could separate it from its rifle so If I win I respectfully ask Doc. to keep it with its rifle where it belongs and donate the money to the Kamis. Thats what matters in the end. I would still like to get one of them martinis one day tho.

I am goin to the bank today, if I still have an odd amount I will pitch in whatever it takes to make even.

Dang, I was just browsing the IMA site and then I read this thing fits the Gehendra Martini Henry.....................

I like the 1895 if I could be fair sure of getting mostly complete. I ain't near as good at this restoring stuff as the doc. Done quite a bit but nothing in the kind of shape I see on their website on these. Kind of an interesting challenge though.

I hear ya. I want one of those Gehendra Martinis really badly, but I don't have the cash or the expertise to restore it properly. Plus, I'd like one in good enough shape to shoot at least once and theyre probably pretty hard to come by.

The Martini family of rifles that requires the .577/450 cartridge (all from IMA & sister company AC) will be expensive. So far 20 cases cost me 50 bucks. They were hand formed from 24 gauge brass shot shells and are the least expensive way to go. Good stuff, too. The cheapest dies I have found are by Lee and they will be $120+. They will also require a press that will handle "large" dies. 150-300 dollars. I will end up loading my cartridges by hand with a hand punch and two boards. Easy method used by the old buffalo hunters in the 1800s.

I'm saying my good-byes tonight to the Nepalese bayonet because it's getting packaged up in the morning right after the little dogs finish taking me out for my walk. Going to make someone a nice addition to their blade collection.

Thanks again Bookie, you are a class act! You are a generous person and I bet you are one hell of a guy in your private life. I love reading your stories about the time you spent in war, your funny poems, and the pictures of the amazing work you do in big metal and wood. You are a gentleman.

Yeah, GB. I'm a legend in my own mind. I've been a little busy tonight.
