Karl Andersen, JS ~ Turkish Twist Takedown w/ David Seward Sheath

Awesome photos of a fantastic knife/sheath. I'm really drawn to the richness of the walnut against the black guard... and I always enjoy seeing your exploded take-downs.
Is that finial seating against an internal step in the walnut handle?... or do you use some sort of washer in there?

Erin

I insert a steel "receiver" in the handle to which the finial shoulder seats.
The owner can disassemble and reassemble the knife while fully tightening the finial with no undue wearing of mating parts.

This is not that knife, obviously, but will give an idea what I did.
The finial itself is recessed into the handle material about 1/4" and the butt of it is threaded 2-56.
Then covered with ivory:

Stunning Damascus, wood and craftmanship. A special knife matched to a special sheath. And compliments to the owner.

Exceptional bowie and images....Distinctive on both counts...!

I'm late to the party, but Karl that is really a beautiful knife, and the sheath is not bad either :D

The Damascus is spectacular and that walnut is unusual, but just perfect for the knife

Great job

One of, if not the, best knife I have ever seen you produce...particularly like the handle shape in relation to the blade.

Well done!

Karl, like others I also think this one is your best ever, especially the Damascus. An all round great package. Praise to David for the sheath and Caleb for the photos.

Thanks Karl for the knife, I am quite fond of it. A big thanks to David for building me the sheath just as I wanted and to Caleb for getting the great pics done for me.

Karl! That's just a gorgeous piece, sir. My favorite of yours that I've seen, I believe. The walnut is different in a great way and the steel looks just killer.

Congratulations Karl for an exceptional knife. Unusual piece of walnut and black guard with the damascus make for an incredible look.
Caleb photos are 1st class. Kris was great to work with. Enjoyed the project.
Thanks gentlemen for your kind and generous comments. Really appreciated.
