Katana #3

It is a beautiful sword, and the density, plus the activity of that amazing hamon is very well underlined by the polishing job!!
What is the steel used?

Pro grade work, Stuart....am particularly impressed with:

1. The mekugi ana-very clean
2. The habaki fit....looks just about perfect, love the taper towards the ha
3. The wrap! dayum if those diamonds don't look awesome.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Awesome work Stuart. As others have said, that hamon is insane!

Haunting hamon lines and that tsuba is incredible. Beautiful craftsmanship...............!

I don't even have words to describe how awesome that sword is. Well, I guess awesome would be one. I feel that anything I say to compliment you and this work would be sorely lacking. My hat is OFF, and hanging up my tools as well.

Thank you all for the very kind comments. For me this is a transition piece. Having to work to the specs provided by the person who commissioned this required a different approach and thus took away from much of the serendipity that went into my previous attempts. For the frustration that that can lead to, not able to be happy with just what happens, leads one to a deeper understanding of process and a new level of admiration for the masters.

Thanks again.

Stuart, I'm in such awe at the Hamon. That I almost lost focus on the complete package. Well done
