Guess you missed my question before.Sam. I've heard it's difficult keeping the blade from not acting like a wet noodle getting from horizontal forge to quench. How did you avoid that?

OW, Sorry! Horizontal is not bad at all when working with a single edge, because you can hold it spine up. You'll notice I never turn it on it's side, which would cause it to flop over and warp from the heat.
Steve, the reason for the water is, I am crazy
But seriously, I have park's#50 so it is not a question of cooling it fast enough, it was a question of curvature IE getting the natural curvature I can only get from water. I have not done any testing yet with clay coated blades in the park's and wether they will get positive or negative curvature or not.
What happened with this blade was the edge cooled too much and went MUCH past Ms so I was not able to equalise everything in the 400F and straighten things while still hot. I was bending and bending on it but no luck.
