KC pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any chance that HR will make a run for the rest of us folks? I don't feel like paying 2x the price to the guys buying buckets of Busses and gouging online.

Oh boy  someone needs to look up the definition of price gouging. Feel free to attend a show. They are open to the public.

When you take into consideration that they are paying travel costs to the event, several nights in a hotel at top dollar per room and other related travel expenses, they are not making much unless they buy a substantial amount of steel. Then they pay shipping costs to you and any fees they absorb on your payment.

Think what it would cost you to travel from Canada to KY then compare it to just buying off the exchange.

I'd rather send a PM followed by a payment and have a shiny new blade show up on my doorstep a few days later.

I would agree to the above. Blade in Atlanta is not that far from me but it still costs a good bit to go to the show.

Wow, looks like KC had all kinds of goodies! I gotta make it to a show soon. I'm getting light headed just looking at the pics!

Yep, if you want show prices, the shows are open to the public and you're more than welcome to go and buy till your little hearts content.

If i had to join the show, one knife would had cost me $2000, and thats just the airplane ticket and hotel...Sure i would have liked to do a little extra bucks, on each knife i brought with me back home...

Oh come now, I'm not sure why you guys got offended, it's pretty common practice in the knife world, I've just never seen the joy in it. I'll just wait until Busse does another run of HRs, or maybe they won't, all part of the fun.

.The adjusted price on the forum is reasonable, when you factor in the overhead. I almost consider that friend prices. I would rather pay a few extra bones to someone on the forum that appreciates Busse stuff than a double mark up on ebay.

And, its Free Market Capitalism in its purest form. Which makes all of our lives better in this nation. Spring time here in Oregon. Hope you all are having similar great weather. Cheers.

You guys are defending this activity like folks are running a business....covering expenses, etc. Doesn't really compute.

I'm a firm believer in capitalism, buy it if it holds value for you, and you agree with the seller on price for said value. It's market demand, vote with your wallet. Nobody is forcing you to purchase anything. I feel happy enough in my current stash of knives that I'll wait for Jerry to supply us with our own SOB's. If I never get one...that's my fault for not choosing to pay for someone's flight / hotel / taxes / shipping. I thought most folks go to KC to shoot guns and SPEND money...not to stomp the trough in hopes to cover expenses.

There used to be more transparency and sharing of the show releases / pricing on the forums. This year, a little more close to the chest. Lack of transparency may have created a slightly skewed perception amongst the less fortunate forum members...I know I'm jealous!! Personally, I really appreciate when pictures / knowledge / sharing is provided by a few good Hogs....makes me feel "included" in the releases. Not critical, but it was nice and showed a direct intent to include / involve less fortunate piglets.

We should all keep in mind that Busse crew had a LOT of SOB's, etc. I remain confident that the HOGS at least gave everyone a chance to take home what they wanted / could afford, before taking the excess to cover any costs.

The Busse Knife Company makes no serious attempts to have shows anywhere else beyond the East/Midwest US. Its a gigantic pain in the butt for those of us out West or elsewhere around the globe to manage those logistics. It is what it is. We will be underserved from the company in terms of closer shows and opportunities and I understand that. The real reason it happens is that Busse hasn't built a business case to directly provide limited blades directly to all of its customers beyond the standard shows or ganzas. Maybe we will all get lucky with expanded general offerings for the HR or SOB in the future. It would be nice but don't hold your breath.

There isn't any such thing as price gouging on non-essential items. If one decides that an item is worth to him personally the price that someone else is asking, then he isn't being gouged, regardless of what others think.

If no one feels that the item is worth the asking price, then no one will buy the item and either the price will come down or the seller will decide to keep it.

There are Busses that I have bought that were real steals. There are Busses that someone, somewhere would think I paid way too much for. There are Busses that I would like to have but I am not willing to pay the price for, and there are Busses that are just simply not available to me. I can choose to play the game and enjoy it, to be bitter about the rules of the game, or just not play at all.

Life is too short to be bitter and I choose to play because I still find it enjoyable.

I particularly choose not to be like a couple of sour-puss college football coaches recently in the news and try to change the rules because I can't always win under the present ones.

You have to take under consideration that these guys re-selling them online spend time and money getting to these shows while were nice and comfy in our homes or jobs just waiting for a good deal to pop up. At least they give us a chance to actually get our hands on them. "It's not personal Sonny, it's strictly business." :o)

As you can see by my join date, I'm new to this forum. So not familiar w/ Busse past practices. In my ideal world, I would like a chance to actually hold/heft any Bussekin I am contemplating purchasing. But accept that I must use other devices - mainly past purchases and imagination, before deciding on my purchase here on the exchange.

Interesting to watch some of your activity here. Buy a knife, then resell it some few days/weeks afterward. Guess it wasn't the one you wanted. I am still in the early stages of this "divine madness." Only eight B's and two SR's so far - with many more to go. Cheers.

I think it's cool that we, the consumer ultimately determine the value of these fine blades...yes it would be nice to hold them before purchase, and even nicer just to see tables covered in so much glorious INFI and SR101 and get to pay show prices, but as a West Coast/Mexico based fan, I have no choice but to accept that the Busse crew hasn't come this way in years, and there's a great chance we'll never see them out this way again.

I once got lucky and had a really awesome HOG proxy me a blade and give it to me at show price and that was awesome, but I know not to regularly expect that.

HOGs spill beer, blood, and dollars raiding those tables - combine that with hotel and travel expenses, along with the value and performance of INFI and Jerry's designs in general, and even at the slightly higher prices, I still think they're totally worth it...just my $.02

I'd much rather buy from these HOGs than from LK...

FWIW, it's pretty cool that we can try out all these different models and not worry about taking a loss when we decide it's time to sell a blade and try out another, even if we've paid slightly higher prices. Since acquiring my first pieces of INFI in early 2011, with the exception of a CGBJ I gifted to a good friend, I still have yet to lose money on any Busee(kin) I've purchased yet!

Having said all that, can we have more KC pics now?!!!?!?!

Photo of the Hell Razor I purchased.

I went to the show to buy this knife and came home with it. The raffle at the beginning of the show was a great idea.

There were 12 people at the show.
