Even if the refund takes a couple days to clear, paypal will send the notification out immediately. Then they send the refunder another to say that it's complete. So PI2DMP has yet to act of giving the promised refund, as has already been stated. Not good.

Just to clarify, this is correct, the refund has not yet been processed, the account was $300 into the negative after his opening the Paypal case and the funds being removed and held. I had the option of adding funds from my bank account to my PayPal account personally, then refunding the entire amount, or processing a refund as an E check which would go through immediately but then take 4-5 business days for him to have funds available. I elected to go with option one as it is quicker to have funds transferred into my account. I also instructed him to escalate the case to possibly get it resolved and refunded quicker that way. It is unfortunate and it is on me with the slow ship that it has come to this, however he will certainly receive his refund and I believe he is up-to-date with this having spoken with him on the phone for quite a while.

I am grateful to the forum that this sub is provided so i can identify potential problems ahead of time and add to my ignore list.

Nice to see that someone realizes the value of this sub-forum.

If every new member started here, I bet there would be a lot less of the typical issues we see on this forum.

Absolutely. Start with the stickies, read the current questions and problems, and when they begin to buy and sell for themselves, they will understand why we have the rules we do.
 
21 days since claim filed with paypal and still no refund. Paypal will now get back to me by Nov. 15th. What a pain in the butt.

So when you sold your last couple knives did you not use that money to refund this guy?

+2, how many times can this guy get away with stuff like this, mods? Do we offically have to wait until he steals someone's money that they can't get refunded back from PayPal through force before he gets banned? The time I bought from him, he told me he would refund me, didn't believe him, SO many people have told me horror stories about him, more from ebay than anything, also JD, was sure he would keep the blades and the $. This ordeal with 9 deuce is making me happy I listened to my gut. Why hasn't he refunded you 9duece, is there even an excuse/lie?
 
There is no story that makes sense. There have been phone texts and responses in this forum, but no real answers as to why he never shipped nor why he never processed a refund.

It seems like he has sold other knives since my transaction, so I am just as confused about why that money didn't go toward my refund. However, I quickly came to the conclusion that I would have to wait this out with paypal, not count on the seller to make it right. I just didn't figure it would take paypal so long to figure it out. It's pretty cut and dried. I paid, he didn't ever ship anything. It takes 2 seconds to check the tracking number (logged with the paypal transaction) and see it never even got to the PO.

Paypal has got me almost as frustrated as I am with pi2dmp.

Lastly, like others have questioned, it is frustrating that the guy still gets to sell here with an open GBU issue (and other issues beyond mine?). He has admitted in this post that he didn't ship it and that a refund "was coming". This isn't a one-sided story, since he has been here in this thread. I'd like to think someone would at least get a suspension until resolved, especially when other people might be getting screwed the same way.

Something like this occurred recently and mods locked the seller's sales threads till a resolution was reached.
I could see leaving them open IF the seller then sent a refund after the sales. Otherwise.....lock em!

His current sales threads have been locked. I see a lot of information missing in this thread. Name, shipping info and any other contact information you have for him would be helpful to the community.

I have no issues banning his account right now but I'd rather he do the right thing. Sometimes posting all the info I asked for above provides motivation to resolve the issue as these threads to show up pretty high in search results.
 
Here is an update and the requested information:

11/2 - I received an email from Paypal stating that they had found in my favor and would be sending me funds in 4-5 days, but they appear to have come today. Please note that their communication does not indicate this was Seller initiated.

Payment Sent: 9/20. Seller indicated he would ship 9/22, again on 9/24, promised a tracking number on 9/29, again on 10/4 and finally sent one on 10/5.
USPS tracking number: 9405909699937955419190. If you track it, you will see that it never even made it to the post office, just an electronic label was created on that date.
Filed Claim with Paypal: 10/8
GBU thread created: 10/13

Seller responded in this thread 10/13 and 10/14. He and I also exchanged various texts from 10/8 onward. The gist of these texts were apologies, promises to make things right, promises to get a refund started, surprise that Paypal hadn't fixed it yet, offers to work out a future deal, more commitments to look into it, etc., etc.

Seller appears to have sold knives in the interim, receiving positive feedback on 10/15 and 10/19. I left negative feedback on 10/31.

This brings us up to date. Please let me know if there is anything else you need. The matter is now concluded on my end.
