Keeping a knife in your car

I keep a Mora Companion HD and an Opinel #8 in both personal vehicles. Mora in the glove compartment or clipped to the visor and the Opinel in the trunk along with a small survival and first aid kit. There's also a Leatherman Wingman in both cars, which have a blade, but are really just there as a tool.

My company vehicle for my day job has Leatherman Wave that I almost never use and a Benchmade Griptilian. There's a Mora in the glove compartment too of course.

My truck is a virtual rolling armory.

They're is a Leatherman in the console for utility, and a Ka-Bar fighting knife in the door for quick access. It wasn't part of the original question, but my truck gun is a Ruger .38 and in the emergency bag is one of those neat self-contained in the stock Henry .22 rifles. There may, or may not be an expandable baton somewhere, despite my state classifying then as an offensive weapon. Boo.

There is a rescue knife clipped to my visor, a hawk in the door panel, a leatherman in the center console and whatever folder happens to be in my pocket.

Sometimes people forget that if you're in a car accident, whatever is in your car isn't in the same place afterwards. So people that keep knives in the side door usually have a hard time finding it after the accident. I like to keep it clipped to something or tied down so it doesn't bounce all over the car in an accident.

Yep, exactly. My mora is clipped to the visor in my car. My wife thinks it looks silly though and keeps hers in the glove compartment.

I keep a Benchmade Triage in my car at all times. I also have a couple of fixed blades but always have my TM Hunt M18 tucked inbetween the passenger seat and center console.

This!!!!^^^^^^^^^

Also keep in mind, in a serious accident, you may be transported by ambulance and your car and all contents will be looted by the tow truck driver and wrecking yard where it's towed.

In 1969 I was t-boned in my '63 Ford Falcon, and taken by ambulance to the ER. When I finally got out of the hospital 3 days later and tracked down what was left of my car, the Puma Bowie was gone from under the seat, the Buck knife was gone from the glove box, but most of all, the Winchester .22 target rifle I was going to be shooting later that day, was gone. Never did find anyone to confess to the thefts, and the complaints to the tow company, police, did zilch.

Never keep firearms in the car, and never keep anything you can't replace fast and easy from the big box store. Just saying from my own experience.

I always have my CRK with me plus a Delica ZDP-189 clipped to my left pocket & on my right side riding high is one of my Kimbers 24/7 as this world gets crazier everyday & I want to be prepared just in case & also pray that I never have to use a weapon & it would make me very happy.!** And no I would never reach for a Knife first ~~ as they are for last resort just in case.!^^

I do. There is always a folder in the central box, sometimes a folder in the gloves box and I'm considering leaving a fixed blade on the door.

I fully recommend a fixed blade on the door... As long as it's a situation like mine where the door pocket curves toward the door, making it near impossible to remove the knife unless you know exactly where to grab and the angle to pull. Otherwise, it could easily get displaced during a crash

Spyderco Delica in the center console. Older Camillus BK2 with partial serration in the trunk (though I'll probably replace it with a BK3).

Benchmade Triage, orange G10, blunt tip, partial serration, in the sunglass holder above the windshield. Spyderco Dragonfly G10 in the console. Of course on me is a 3" - 4" folder and a neck knife with no scales (La Griffe / Silent Solder / Enyo etc) in my Filofax.

Mora all-around
Tramontina machete under the back seat
And S&W border guard in the center console of the truck at all times.
Just in case.

Nothing expensive that will break my heart if stolen, God forbid my truck gets broken into, but a decent trifecta of blades to cover all my needs.

On my person with glass breaker always.
Backup in other pocket.
Former LEO. It's just engrained.

I keep a kershaw blur in my center console. I rarely use it. It's mostly in case I forget to put a knife in my pocket when I'm leaving. But I figure you can never be sure when you'll need a knife

I would but if I'm ever parked at my high school and car gets searched I'd get in serious trouble for having a knife on school property.
