Kel-Tec PMR30?

IF......you can find one.......................without getting gouged........................You tube has some firing pretty well.......

I'll revive this.
I got a pmr30 recently. I've shot about 100 rounds.. No problems so far.. Just got some armscor for a good price so I'll shoot that next.
I gave 500 incl. Shipping..

Btw. Safariland paddle holster fits perfect. Model 568 custom fit belt / paddle

Mine has had no malfunctions thru 40 rounds of Hornady Critical Defense 45 gr and CCI Maxi Mag 40 gr. A co-worker tried 30-grain V-Max in his (not recommended) and had 50% failures to feed from new, but after I cleaned and lubed it for him, it now does fine even with those.

I own one, so I can comment on it.
About 600 rounds through it (that I have shot through it)
Only used the ammo recomended in Kel Tecs manual.
Have kept it clean with no failures.
It is an early one also.
Only problem I had was getting the 29th & 30th round in the mag.

I also own the Kel Tec KSG, 9mm Carbine, and .223 rifle.

It does get noticeably more difficult to load at about round 20. I have never tried to put the last few rounds in, though. That's based on a belief that a fully-compressed magazine spring can set and become too weak to feed. Anything with less than 19 capacity, I download 1 round; 19-29, down 2; and 30 or more, down 3. I think it was Clint Smith who said you are more likely to lose a fight *because* you had a malfunction than because you were too slow in clearing it. I'd rather deal with the lowered capacity, and survive.

I've ended up selling each and every kel tec I've purchased.

Just don't feel right. I'm waiting for a piston AR that has a guide rod assembly closer to an AK.

NO BOLT TILT ISSUES THAT WAY.

That's about the only thing the kel tec ar mag rifle has going for it.

Don't hold your breath. As long as the tappet rod engages an extension of the top of the bolt carrier where the carrier key was on Stoner's design, the potential for carrier tilt exists. About the only thing that can be done without a total redesign is put reinforcement skids on the bottom of the carrier, which Adams Arms does.

My guess, the cases were damaged either in loading or en route from the magazine to the chamber. I knew of 5 Remington 597s in 17 HMR, and 3 of them did experience a kaboom, and a 4th I had a chance to inspect before it did. It was piercing cases just below the shoulder on the trip up the feed ramp to the chamber. If it had not dragged a wrinkle into the case wall and caused failure to feed, it would have blown up too. Usually the magazine pressure disassembled and dropped out of the rifle; the shooter noticed an off noise; and that was it. I think one blew the extractor out of the bolt.

If I wanted to run a PMR, and I do, I would inspect the barrel feed ramp and chamber for burrs very carefully, and load it carefully and not fully. They are super lightweight and have an excellent trigger. The sights on mine are dead on. And if mine blows up, you'll know.
