Kelly Flint Edge Axes - Post em Up

Nothing so fine as yours but I have a few Flint Edge axes around here. I think they're really great axes with excellent top quality steel and tempering.

Here's a Puget Sound Falling Axe with a couple of Flint Edge undercutters. These are each about 13" across.

A pretty fresh Flint Edge cruiser. I picked this one up at the estate sale of a fellow who used to be a timber cruiser. I also got a Mann True American cruiser at that sale. The Mann had the most wear - it must have been his favorite work axe.

A random single bit - I think I sold this one.

I've got a few more around here somewhere if I did some digging.

This is the only Flint Edge I have. I recently posted it in the Kelly mfr thread.

The only mark relating to the manufacturer is "KELLYS". Anyone have an idea of when it was made?

A Flint Edge rafting axe I got a few years ago (when vinegar soaking was in vogue, which clearly shows the hardened steel at the poll as well as the bit):

Here are a couple of Flint Edge Pulaski's.

The newer one with part of a paper label is not stamped, it has a synthetic wedge.

The back of the older one has the most stamps I have came across on an axe, BLM twice, one with a 02, USFS and CFC. Maybe some on knows what the 02 and CFC is about?

That's a sweet one Agent H.
The ones I have seen like that where forge welded and hand made as the stamp states.
Its interesting it has the 1/4 lb stamp. What is in front of it?

Boys axe and a cruiser, I think what is left of the green paint is original.

Probably a Military issue. Its hard to believe that this head spent years out side in a pile of scrap metal. I found it with what was left of the handle covered in olive drab paint(good stuff).

I sold three just exactly like that in the last two years. Two with labels and one without. The history on mine is that somewhere around 1975 a case of them was found in an old boxcar near Denver. I knew the guy who found them and ended up with three even though the Canadian pattern is not my favorite American broadaxe pattern to hew with.

Garry, I'm not exactly sure what the number markings are on that one. I thought maybe it was a 4 but that would make it a 4 1/4lbs and that seems strange - would also mean the weight was laid out in an arc of sorts.

I can take a picture of it and maybe someone can make it out.

Good looking axes there by the way.

Great information to know. Thank you for sharing. Guess there is more than one of these out there.....damn! Lol

COTS that is a beauty for sure!

Flint Edge cruiser:

There are a couple others around here but I have to dig them out. I haven’t used this one since I hung it but it’s in my keeper pile.

Two years ago the TT Flint Edges were sold for as much as unmarked axes. Now you can't find one here, in person that is.

I have around 70+ Kellys. I really need to take more pictures of them.

EDIT: I'm sorry after I posted a few of my Kellys, I noticed that Operator wanted Kelly Flint Edge posted. I'll need to take more picture soon.
