Kelly Flint Edge Axes - Post em Up

It may be sacrilege, but here is what I did with a Kelly Flint Edge that came to me with a cracked eye. I only wish it had cracked on the other side so I could have saved the stamping.

What a lovely location for a clean break; right across the stamp. What you did with this head is hardly what I would call sacrilege though; a first class resurrected 'user' is of infinitely greater value than a doorstop paperweight.

Just a guess but I'd say that axe was left outside until the haft became mostly rotten. The rotten wood wicked up a bunch of water. Then it got wet and froze.

Just drug this one home yesterday. It cleaned up well. I like it.
Some original paint in spots.

Thanks. Won't swear to it, but I think i saw a scan fron an old catalog that said 6 pound axes could be special ordered in certain patterns. It doesn't show very well in the pics but both sides are stamped Bueno of parks and rec.

I found this one today. It was my grandpa's but I never knew he had it. It was hiding in the back of the garage. Only has the one chip in the bottom. I'll show some after pics when I get it freshened up.

Here's mine :) I like this axe. Shes got some character. Swung it for the first time on the weekend. Makes some solid chips and sends them flying real good. Its a flit edge jersey, head weight is 4 1/4 pounds.
Anyone have an idea of age? Im still learning about the kelly axes.

I finally got some after pics of my grandpa's old Kelly. I didn't do the work on this one myself. Wasn't sure when or if I'd ever get around to it. But the gentleman that rehung it seemed like an okay guy. So grandpa's axe made me a new friend as well.
