A while back Mike Robuck had sent me a reprint of a Holly cutlery Catalog, circa 1915. A large single blade work/hunting knife caught My eye. Holly calls this knife a "Michigan Pen" (tongue in cheek I assume). The knife that Holly makes is 5 1/4 inches long, quite a handful. I really like the proportions of the blade, swedging and overall look of this knife but decided it would be cool in a much more pocket-able size of 4 1/8. You can think of it as a vintage pattern backpocket! Even with its reduced size this is still a robust knife. The blade stock is 1/8, with a very nicely rounded frame with cap bolsters. The stag is very evenly matched from side to side, fit without bulging in the center. While the stag is not exhibition grade, I think it is appropriate for this pattern. The pull is medium to medium heavy, however very smooth and not a thumbnail breaker by any means. Shipped in a protective zippered case. You can say "I will take it" here, pm or email me. Thanks very much for looking.
