Ken Erickson Knives: A Retrospective

Thanks for all the very kind comments on this one! They are very much appreciated.

Pictures or it didn't happen!!

Here is proof that Ken's beautiful Farmer's Jack ended up in Canada!
(And proof that I knew a few hippies in my time!)*

The knife is all I hoped for and more! Nice robust walk and talk, worthy of a working tool. Nicely fitted Blackened Stag, typical of 1800s Empire Knife Co's aesthetic!! Beautifully ground and fitted blades - it just doesn't get any better.

There have been a lot of beautifully made folders made in the last decades. This knife is in the top echelon!!
Thanks Ken!!!!

*With thanks to Leah for donating her personal 1970s beads to my informal trade bead museum!

I would be really excited if that one wondered into my stables - completely wonderful!:eek::)

Great knife Charlie! I always suspected that you're a hippy! Not that there's anything wrong with that.!

Charlie, what an absolutely gorgeous farmer!! That stag is sweet. Excellent job, Ken! Your tuned in, Sir!

Well, I think that is past tense, Gary. I am now known as a capitalist I think!

Oink, oink!!:D:D

A beautiful knife. Your custom knife above and Gev's restoration of an oldie in the other thread has made me sit up and notice these Farmer Jacks for the first time!

Thanks for all the very kind comments on the FJ! Glad the knife made it safe and sound to you Charlie.

Farmers jack redux. This version will be quite different than Charlies version. Featuring a much different profile and grind on the budding/grafting blade, catch bit construction, unique one-sided flat grind, for lack of better terminology and covers to be decided at a bit later date.

That is going to be a wild one!! The rooster will be a-crowin'!!

Lyle you are a lucky dog!!

Have the parts cleaned up a bit on the surface grinder. Able to see the profile of the "rooster comb" budding/grafting blade a bit clearer.

Love seeing these process pics, so much fun to see them come together! Thanks for sharing Ken, love the first one and can't wait to see how the second one turns out.
